Ok, enough with the pictures to try and put across either a belief, or send a different message, EVEN if it is only to sell articles.

I was upset with how the press did it with President Bush.

So I gotta point this out as well. When you look, there is NOTHING wrong with this picture. But at first glance. . .

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/04/04/article-1167373-04497049000005DC-888_156x117.jpg

There are a SLEW of other pics that can be used. Why this one?

It is the same with the president bowing down before the king of Saudi Arabia, it was the same as the pic of Bush with his hair being blown and him reaching back to flatten it, while his guest wasn't having the problem. . . which in that instant, the picture sent an image of Bush as a dolt... an image many of you bought, as it iwas then reinforced.

The same things are now being done here. The press is once again turning on the president. It is going to get ugly. At some point . . . and I mean this. . . the press had to learn the difference between reporting and creating the news.

At least they are being "fair and balanced" when it comes to destroying presidential administrations. :hunch:

For the record, the press has lost all credibility with me. They destroyed one administration and created another. It doesn't matter what "we the people" want anymore.

Realize. . . my outrage isn't over this pic per se. . . I just find this pic as one more piece of evidence.

Tony.

I have no clue why you continue to turn a blind eye to blatant reality... http://www.mediaresearch.org/biasbasics/biasbasics3.asp

But be that as it may. . . I have always contended that the media, beyond its liberal bias, has in its erroneous view, that it is itself the protector of democracy. It is as arrogant as it is false.

the media ALSO likes to believe that it can build up and tear down ANY president. Don't forget, Obama has snubbed the media a number of times already. The media doesn't like or forget it. That VERY thing is what drove the feeding frenzy over Quayle. His hometown people BOOED the media when they asked questions one day after the nomination. They turned on him like a pack of wolves from that point forward.

This picture is just one more point of evidence of the media doing whatever they want to try to create a story....

The Times-Picayune did something like that several months ago. The NOPD either got some new weapons for the cops or busted a gang and took some weapons, I don't remember the details. Nagin and police chief Warren Riley held a press conference and at one point, Nagin picked up a scary-looking rifle and moved it, and in the process he swung it past Riley.

The photographers were taking pictures the whole time, and they picked one from right when the barrel went past Riley. They printed it and published it on the Web, making it look like Nagin pointed the gun at Riley intentionally. The T-P got caught because one of the local news stations ran a video.

I also remember the T-P choosing, from hundreds of photos, a picture of Gore where his mouth was open at an awkward angle so he looked retarded.

A) It's easy to rip the Pres. You can always find a hundred "experts" who'll say he's an idiot.
B) Obama had a honeymoon
C) It was short
D) It was short because he tried to do about 400 more things than he could, effectively wrecking his chance of doing any single one of them right
E) So it goes

The good thing about this is he won't be re-elected because he's not the right guy for the job. The bad thing about this is we need the press to say good things about the economy even after they turn on Obama, and they may not.

If you don't see the normal liberal bias, you are blind.

And if you don't understand what is happening, you obviously don't have enough sense to see past your nose.

The only reason the liberal media is rightfully slamming Obama is because he truly is conducting himself like a bumbling socialist leaning, pacifist idiot. PLUS, slamming Obama RIGHT NOW gives them credibility and won't hurt their future agenda.

If this was a mid term election or the next presidential election cycle, you can bet your ass they would be galvanized to the left, ignoring most of what this bumbling fool is doing, and talking about how presidential he is, in order to fight the larger enemy - republicans and conservatives - just as they were this last election cycle in order to sway the sheep, and will again when it really counts.

What really cracks me up, is the underlying fact that most of these articles are things that Obama was TRYING to do. Then, when the outrage came, he backed off it. Now, Tony tries to spin it as "panic articles" when in reality. . . they are articles published by the media elites. . that spurns people into action.

i also find it quite interesting that there has been NO coverage of the "tea parties" yet they are drawing more people than the "anti-war" rallies during Bush's presidency, least in the San Francisco bay area they sure are.

tony hipchest

"Now"??? ive accurately called them panic articles from jump street. ive put the fire out on plenty of them around here.

what cracks me up is all the conservatives now, nut hugging the same media they demonized just a few months ago. :toofunny:

as for the "tea parties" what is there to "cover"? its not even apr 15. we all know republicans like their free tea (or ANYTHING that isnt taxed, for that matter).

only a conservative would think that ANY national media would actively lobby for people to go out and stage an uneventful protest (assuming 3 cops dont get shot).

it was that case with bush... it is the same case with obama.

*"bu bu bub bub bu bubba clinton"* :sofunny:

(woops, sorry to mention bush. i know how sensitive you guys get about that.)

so preacher, if the press is spurning "people into action" are they "ignorant" or not? you are all over the place here. you cant have it both ways. :chuckle:

As for the media... nope. it is just interesting to watch them react to a democrat president that has treated them with contempt.

As far as your "Panic articles." Well, I guess when the president says let's do this, or do that, and the press prints it, it is a panic on his part.

Not sure how posting here what the president plans to do can be considered "panic." unless you are referring to how Obama keeps screwing up out of panic.

The media is biased, almost every major outlet of the press supports the democratic demographic. However, that doesn't mean they won't put down their own if it means getting a 'big story' (more readers).

I was going to go to school for a communications major. It's what I wanted to do my entire life, but this is the reason I quit journalism. Because I was surrounded by dumbasses who couldn't write, report on or snap a photo on any legitimate or objective grounds. I couldn't stand it.

i believe desperate times call for desperate measures and that the private sector run amuck consumed by greed got us caught up in this mess.

You do realize the crisis we are in is because of Fannie & Freddie, A COMPANY CREATED, MISMANAGED AND PRESSURED BY OUR GOVERNMENT to make bad loans that would not have been made otherwise?.....

This crisis is a textbook example of what happens when a bunch of ignorant attorneys and career politicians with little business experience or knowledge create a company to monopolize the the private sector.....and you obviously want more of it.

Greed and corruption is a human trait, Tony Not a trait of capitalism as you constantly imply. Stop embarrassing yourself with ridiculous mantra. The average politician is FAR more corrupt than the average executive in the private sector. As Nancy Pelosi correctly pointed out, there is a complete culture of corruption and deception in Washington.

You're so steeped in class envy you'd rather the government decide who get's what rather than the freedom, free markets and capitalism this country was founded on.

i also believe you and your entire political stance is consumed by money.

You're completely wrong. I am consumed with liberty and freedom and sound economic principles that are best for this country, not big government solutions like they have in Europe, which is the reason why people fought and died for the personal freedoms this country was founded on in the first place..

You are apparently steeped in ignorance and class envy. In fact, your entire "shtick" is right out of the marxist/socialist handbook my friend. If you would like me to get quotes straight from these books and put them next to yours, one after another, just continue along this line.

My main problem with the liberals criticisms stem from the fact that we, as a nation, are apparently supposed to just sit back and let Obama do whatever he wants, and put our blind faith in him. It seems he is supposed to be considered above reproach. Here's why that doesn't work:

-This is the most complicated economic situation we've been in since at least the early 80's, perhaps even the early 30's.
-NOBODY knows exactly how to get us out of this.
-Obama has zero experience at the executive level with budgeting

So you're damned right I'm gonna question this guy, ESPECIALLY in light of the fact that he's broken a zillion campaign promises already and adopted so many of Bush's policies that just a few months ago he told us were complete failures...

It's pretty well established that no matter who the president is, while he's in office everyone says he's terrible. Based on people's reaction at the time, you would think we haven't had a halfway decent president for at least 40 or 50 years. the principals this country was founded on are laid out in the constitution. how many majors do you have in constitutional law? according to your own flawed logic, obama is right and you are wrong, so how would YOU know?

i love the armchair quarterbacking of the likes of you who think cause you can balance your own checkbook or some small business books, you can fix the entire economics simply by copying some inexact science you learned in an economic course or 2.

if it were that easy, it wouldve already been fixed. actually we wouldnt have found ourselves in this mess in the first place. we are in unchartered waters. i think you only look at this from a nationalistic point of view and arent even realizing the global implications. i say your view is shortsighted and narrow and i dont need a freaking textbook to tell me that.

All I have said is that freedom, liberty, capitalism and lower taxes is a better solution than than socialism and government control of everything (as history has shown over and over)

I am also saying that your consistent characterization of capitalists as the only people that are greedy and exploitive, plus your adamant support of massive government control and and wealth distribution being a better solution than capitalism makes you look like a socialist.

Maybe someday you'll understand that greed is a human trait and the government is the most corrupt and greedy of all, but until then, each time you spew your shtick about evil greedy capitalism being the cause of all bad, and the government being the savior, you will continue to look like a socialist who is blinded by class envy.
