Actually, its not 65%, the average is 3+ points lower. RCP puts him at just below 62 percent...

What is MORE INTERESTING.... and most of the press seems to be COMPLETELY IGNORING THIS...

is that it is THE SAME AS Bush's in his first 100 days. It is also about AVERAGE.

CNN Moderator: Good morning, Frank Newport. Welcome back to CNN.com.
President Bush has reached his 100-day milestone. Is the American public pleased with his presidential performance so far?
Frank Newport: Our best single indicator is job approval, which for Bush is now at 62 percent. Relatively speaking, that's about average for presidents in April of their first term. It's actually slightly higher than Bush's father received in April of 1989, and higher than Clinton's April 1993 rating. Our overall assessment is that the public is generally positive about Bush, after 100 days. His ratings have neither soared upwards during this time, nor have they dropped significantly. It looks to us as if Bush is so far about what people expected.

Obama doing better than expected

All that means to me is that the Demo sheeple (including the leftist media) are being good little followers and are turning a blind eye to Obama's actions (and inactions) since the election;

OR

Just won't admit that they elected a spineless jellyfish who has no earthly clue what he is doing and never should have been elected in the first place.

Prolly a little of both.

I'm not leaving this in the BF - I think we can all argue and debate respectfully as we have done for the most part in the Locker Room threads. If it gets out of hand and needs to be moved, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

c'mon, htg... most of us 3 or 4 democratic voters already know where a "pro-bama" thread on this board is gonna wind up anyways.

Oh how wrong you are hipcheese. I didn't turn a blind eye to some of GWB's actions, but for the most part, he did what he said he was going to do and didn't allow public opinion and fear of losing his popularity to sway him in the other direction, like what's-his-name. :chuckle:

As far as GWB being a spineless jellyfish who didn't have a clue (which you quoted out of my original post), obviously you know that isn't true, especially in the aftermath of 911 and his tough stance on terrorism. He preferred not to break bread and play nice with terrorists and countries who harbored them.

There have been several "pro-bama" threads started by various posters and they didn't end up in the BF, so I see no reason why this one would be any different. :wink02:

If anyone gets "blasted" in this thread, it will most likely be because they threw the first poison dart or took another poster's comments personally.

There is no reason whatsoever to put any thread into the BF unless it takes an ugly turn, which up to this point, this thread hasn't.

Then, Obama explained his trickle-up theory of economics.

"My attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody. I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."

I find it interesting that so many class envy libs seem to feel that when the wealthy get to keep more of their own hard-earned money, it is being TAKEN from them.

But I would imagine they don't see "spreading the wealth", the random redistribution of wealth without it being earned.......as handouts......

"Trickle up economics"....... that's funny. :chuckle:

Nah, you will just have to open up your house to a family of four. I think that should satisfy your requirement to the dems socialistic view. Why should you have that house for just yourself and your family, there are others that could be living there also.

Has anyone seen this article on Yahoo:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/21522

Pretty long article so I will just post some excerpts from it.

“Hipness is a way of presenting to the world that you know what’s going on and that you’ve got things under control,” said Wilkins, who served in the Johnson administration and has had up-close dealings with every president since Kennedy:rofl:

For a brief period in the 1970s and 1980s, one might argue that Washington’s eternal pol Marion Barry was hip; that was before drugs, booze and women brought him low. Well, Barack has the drug thing down. He admitted doing coke in college.

It’s so hip that school kids in Albany, N.Y., coined a term for it: “Baracking.” And it doesn’t stop there. Those in the know at Albany High greet each other by saying: “What’s up, my Obama?” and they respond to a sneeze with “Barack you.” Misbehavior is peer-corrected with the admonition, “Barack’s in the White House,” which translates, “Show some respect.” :help: See, he is already getting the young to beleive he is god, hoping it will "trickle up" to the rest of us. This is just flipping sad.

You all realize that the President is only the Commander in Chief during war time and ONLY to the military. He is NEVER EVER EVER the Commander in Chief to the American people.

Article II, Section 2, clause I of that little thing called the U.S. Constitution states in pertinent part: "shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States."

Just my little pet peeve, I hate when citizens give someone power over them by title they don't ever have. Unless you are in the military, NO PRESIDENT WILL EVER BE YOUR COMMANDER IN CHIEF. Have a good night.:drink:

hell, he's probably more scrutinized than clinton was and that is a tough feat to beat.

all this talk about mass media and pop culture is just hogwash. i dont recall everyone blaming bush I losing to clinton in '92 on the media (then again, i didnt listen to rush limbaugh back then).

you guys need to learn to seperate "mass" media, from "pop culture".

mass media conventionally was, used to be the newspapers, and abc, cbs, nbc, and pbs.

"pop culture" is now blogs, paris hilton tv shows, twitter, and message boards such as this.

Some of those aren't "mis-speakings" (is that even a word?), most of them are flat out lies. The other ones are just stupidity.

Or saying Bush waited until the 6th year of his presidency to meet with the automakers.

Also, this recession is widely considered one of the worst in American history.

Sure it is. It's roots started growing over 30 years ago.

And now it's here. What's your point?

EDIT: Never mind. You win. I really could care less about arguing about this.

There are groceries to buy.

Obama could have created electricity. He would be accused of using it to spread hypnotic rays to the American people.

That is my point, Crush. The recession we are currently in has been steadily growing for over 30 years. It didn't just appear out of nowhere in the last 8 years.

No need to get snarky.

Don't see why not - after all, a lot of people seemed to think his predecessor had the power to create catastrophic hurricanes.

No, no, no, it was Israel operating in cahoots with "Chimpy McFlightsuit" that planted internal explosives at the WTC - the planes flying into the buildings was simply trick photography. It also wasn't a plane that hit the Pentagon, it was a cruise missile! 9/11 was a big ruse to go to war against Iraq! :couch:

No he couldn't have, cause Al Gore invented the internet first, and you can't have the internet without electricity!!!

Isn't it funny that the same government that planned and executed 9/11 weren't able to plant ONE WMD in Iraq?
