When will the NFL ever start paying the rookies like rookies.

They shudda taken 2 onlinemen in the first round, and a wr in the second. Culpeper is good w. a line . And w another good WR, theyre good. OR maybe Aaron curry, then a linemen and take another linemen in the second. or take the best player on the board.

Unreal, absolutely unreal. No wonder the Lions are a joke. I am starting to think Goodell is right about limiting rookie salaries.

Sorry but one who has yet to step foot on a football field does not deserve $41M in guaranteed money. What a farce the rookie pay scale. This is one of the few things I agree with God-ell on limiting rookie salaries.

You could say this situation is comparable to the Falcons of last year, but the difference here is that the Falcons Pre-Ryan weren't terrible. They were playoff contenders before Vick screwed up. Nowhere near the trainwreck that is the Lions.

This is an 0-16 team who swiss cheese holes all over their defense, which by the way, was neglected for bust WR's and Harrington. It's going to take more than a QB or some WR's to fix that. And didn't they just draft Drew Stanton? This dumb **** is the reason why the Lions suck, and why they will continue to suck.

Lets see how many touchdown passes he throws from his ass with no left tackle protecting his blind side.

Here is the REAL problem here.

Stafford may be a legit NFL QB, but we'll probably never know. Because he signed this HUGE deal, he'll HAVE to play this year, and he's probably:

A) Not ready and
B) Going to play behind a pretty awful line while
C) Being asked to do way too much

Tim Couch, Akili Smith, Joey Harrington, Ryan Leaf? Meet the newest member of your club, Matt Stafford.

There's one huge difference between him and those three. I think he gets paid more than all three combined. Sad...very sad.

This is a stupid pick. No blockers, no wideouts and NO NOshaun to help him get into 2nd and short like at UGA.
