a 2nd and 2 3rd rounders to the patriots...give them credit. pack sure gave up a lot for a mediocre player (IMO).

I think Wells missed 3 games in 3 years.

but he's been beat up...though he hasn't missed many games, his body has taken a beating already due to his style of play.

i'd avoid him...he won't be a long-lasting durable pro. (and i'm a buckeyes fan who moved from columbus to florida 5 years ago and had season tix for a season before leaving).

Laurinitis I guess most had falling this late and some had 2nd round.

BubbyBrister

My guess is Wells was on the phone w/ the cards, thats why he ran out of the room when the camera went to him instead of sticking in it. The cards didn't want anyone to see him on the phone.

By the way, Beanie Wells weighs 250 lbs if he weighs 10.

He also is an exceptional receiver out of the backfield...just never had a chance to catch passes at OSU.

Max Unger will be a Steeler and fight for the starting Center position. He plays guard and center which is probably why he isn't a better center.

Give him two years at just being a center and he will be very good.

Evander Hood
Height: 6-27/8 | Weight: 300 | 40-Time: 4.89

Strengths:
Very good size and bulk...Naturally athletic...Active with a non-stop motor...Excellent speed and quickness...Uses his hands well...Strong with some power...Nice instincts and awareness...Stout at the point of attack...Gets upfield and can collapse the pocket...Does a good job in pursuit...Explosive with a burst to close...Sudden off the snap...Has a lot of experience...Extremely coachable...Hard worker...Team leader.

Weaknesses:
Plays too tall at times...Doesn't always use proper leverage...May not be a difference maker..Self-made player..Jack-of-all-trades but master of none ... Has some minor durability concerns ... Average production.

Notes:
Nickname is "Ziggy"...Was a three-year starter in the Big 12...Avid participant in the Tiger strength program and has added 40-45 pounds to his frame since he first set foot on campus...Missed time with a broken foot in 2006...The type who does everything well but nothing great...With a solid set of physical tools and top-notch intangibles there really isn't much not to like about this guy...Might never be a star but will play and contribute in the NFL for a long time.

By John Harris, TRIBUNE-REVIEW
http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/sports/steelers/s_622252.html

I predict the Steelers will take Missouri defensive tackle Evander "Ziggy'' Hood (6-foot-3, 300 pounds) with the No. 32 pick if he's on the board because it's easier to find a good offensive lineman than a good defensive lineman early in the draft.

Hood, who posted the second fastest time in the 40-yard dash among defensive tackles at the NFL Scouting Combine (4.91 seconds), was stout against the run but also had 15 1/2 career sacks despite playing inside. He's a versatile defender who played in a 4-3 in college but was often used as a pass rusher with two linebackers and an extra defensive back. The Steelers love versatile, hard-working players such as Hood.

That player is Evander "Ziggy" Hood of Missouri. He is a 6-2 1/2, 300-pound defensive tackle who would play end in the Steelers' 3-4. He has Aaron Smith-like qualities about him, including his drive and what scouts like to call his nonmeasurables. He has the kind of attitude that would fit in perfectly with them.

From By Ed Bouchette, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09115/965472-66.stm
While Hood would be a good choice, the Steelers have to cross their fingers and hope they get a chance to draft him. Some mock drafts have him available at No. 32, some have him gone by then. They might be tempted to move higher in the first round to get a shot, something Kevin Colbert has been willing to do in past drafts.

Yes I did, but then I alway lean a little to the defence side. This kid is better than a lot of people thing. He will have to improve his run game, but I think a lot of that was what they asked him to do in Missou. If I had made the pick I would probably taken Britton, but Hood is a better choice that some think he is.

I think there will be a very good OT available to us in the second round, RT most likely.
