Bengals | Russell and Henderson waived

Mon, 27 Apr 2009 11:43:12 -0700

The Cincinnati Bengals have waived RB Gary Russell and DE/LB Eric Henderson.

They also cut Chris Perry today.

Making cap room? A Chad trade coming up? That would be hilarious.

What? He didn't get arrested quickly enough?

Maybe now that he is a Bengals reject, the Russell fans can stop complaining about the release of a 4th string RB and be optimistic about Frank the Tank.

Marvin goes wild

The agent for LT Levi Jones says the Bengals have informed him his client will be released or traded shortly.

This likely indicates that No. 6 pick Andre Smith will play tackle, not guard, although it remains to be seen which side. Anthony Collins and Andrew Whitworth both have experience on the blind side. The Bengals won't get anything for Jones because of his chronic back injury and pricey contract.

There sure were a lot of snivelers when we cut him - where are they now?

Well, that has to rank as about the most pointless signing in the history of football.

Its Russell's own fault.

He had two whole weeks to steal something...drive drunk....or get into a fight. :noidea:

Not a real shocker. He wasn't the most gifted tailback.

Marvin was under the impression that Russell would bring the Steelers playbook with him. Once he realized that he didnt, Marvin...

A) Dropped Gary like a hot potato.
B) Descreetly put out a memo, that players cut from the Bengals can no longer keep their playbooks.

I don't think the Bengals give you a playbook until you've been arrested for DUI or at least gotten into a fight at a strip club. It's their way of making sure you're on board with their program and they can trust you.

What a downfall.

From scoring a TD in the SuperBowl for the 6 Time Champion Pittsburgh Steelers....to being Cut by the Bengals!

Ouch!
