Linebacker Larry Foote signed a one-year deal with his hometown Detroit Lions on
Wednesday, two days after being released by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Lions announced the signing but didn't release terms of the deal.
The Steelers released Foote on Monday, but the move was expected because he
had asked to be traded or cut. Foote started every game for the Steelers the past five
seasons, including their Super Bowl victories last season and after the 2005
campaign, but he was unhappy about coming off the field on passing downs.
Foote, a Detroit native and former University of Michigan star, said a lot of teams had
expressed interest in him, including the Arizona Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs and
Indianapolis Colts.
It was only a matter of time...good luck Larry, and thanks for all of the good years with us. :tt::tt03::tt02:
