I'm sure he can command more than we can afford. The Steelers could only afford to pay him backup money. You never know if the guy is looking for a ring though.

Looks like he was making 3.2M this year, Some injury history in 2006 and 2007 but clean last year.

From what I can tell he was a weak side 4-3 backer.

Some Rams fans don't seem upset.

tough guy.. led his team in tackles last year...

and had a broken hand..

Rams WLB Pisa Tinoisamoa was limited in practice Wednesday and wore a small cast to protect the broken bone in his left hand.

Coach Scott Linehan said that he "has a better chance" to play Sunday than he did in Week 8, and Tinoisamoa added that his swelling has greatly decreased.

Tinoisamoa is coming off arguably his most productive season as a pro, starting all 16 games and making over 100 tackles and registering a career-high 3.0 quarterback sacks.

One possible landing spot for Tinoisamoa (6-1, 240) is the New England Patriots, who may look at him as a potential inside linebacker.

why does New England never run out of money??????

I think it's highly doubtful he'd come in and start anyway. This would more than likely be a depth signing only if it did happen, IMO.

I was thinking that he may land with the Broncos.

Are the Broncos even fielding a defense these days? Or did they just give up on the idear altogether?:noidea:

It's doubtful. With the cap room we have left, we won't be able to pay him what he's looking for, unless he's hunting for a SB ring.

big signing bonus and a small salary. works for other teams, sign him for one year.

If he wants a ring he might sign a small one year deal worth less than Foote's then move on...but he'll want too much.

i doubt it not very much cap room left and steelers rarely pick up big names in the off season

big signing bonus, small salary - one year contract. fits the cap.

He should get a starting gig with somebody, and he's a 4-3 guy. I doubt he signs with us.

It would be nice if he was a 3-4 type of guy and we could find a way to sign him.

Pats news from Boston.... Free Agent Pisa Tinoisamoa has scheduled a visit with the New England Patriots later in the week reports Mike Hunt of the Boston Globe.

they are 3-4 and somehow have money to spend still.

If you have a one year contract with a signing bonus, the entire signing bonus and salary count against the cap in that year.

Pisa Tinoisamoa to Visit the Bills
Veteran linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa, released by the St. Louis Rams last week, is scheduled to visit the Buffalo Bills in the near future, ESPN.com's Tim Graham reports.

According to Chris Brown of BuffaloBills.com, there's some history there.

"Bills defensive coordinator Perry Fewell has seen him up close and personal for two years when he coached the Rams secondary from 2003-2004. Having intimate knowledge of a player’s game and the way he carries himself as a professional on a day-to-day basis is something the Bills value highly when considering a free agent."
That doesn't do much to explain why the team signed Dominic Rhodes and haven't extended Fred Jackson's contract, though.

Update - With the Times-Picayune reporting that Pisa Tinoisamoa wants starter money, which is what turned off the Saints, I believe the Bills and Bears would balk as well if the free agent linebacker doesn’t lower his asking price.
