No true football fan would support. additional games are going to be a fail.

They are barely making it healthy enough to get through the end of the season, let alone into the playoffs as it is.

If I were a player, I want more money for the higher risk of additional games, which opens up a whole new can of worms.

i would LIKE to see more games but on a realistic level, there would be way too many injuries.. do you think our team would have been as healthy as they were going into the playoffs (only time the entire season they actually were healthy!) if they had two more games to endure?? i think 16 is enough

Uh let's review:

There would be more injuries, meaning a lot more short and meaningless careers. A bigger roster? Pfft....all that means is that we'll see more playing time from less talented players far more often. Most of us want to see THE BEST butting heads, not backups. That's like having more preseason games. All of our players would be more exhausted, watering down pretty much all the games that matter by quite a bit. Nobody wants that. Goodell just cares about the cash flow. So having more games isnt exactly an oppurtunity to "see more games," in a sense, because you'd see your best players on the field less, and the games would be watered down.

thats a fair enough point but that doesnt change my opinion an extra game is hardly going to result in a huge increase in the amout of injuries

I would agree that 16 is enough....not saying that wanting more makes you bad guy.

Trading preseason games for real games is a bad idea. Preseason games may be a glorified practice, but as realistic a practice as you can get. Therefore a positve as far as evaluating the best talent you have available.

I don't have a problem with 4 exhibition games. They have to do something in those weeks leading up to kickoff Thursday.

I don't like to hear players complain about practice, TC, and preseason games, but I can't fault them for not wanting to play more than 16.

your talking one extra game
i dont think that there was as much complaint when they changed it from 14 to 16
look at rugby in england they play 22 games and thers no talk of injuries ore expanded rosters

16 is enough. With the new alignment from 2001, division games already are sort of irrelavant. If you make it 18, only 6 games are to division and 12 for other teams, whats the point of having a division.

The only way I'd want more games is if teams had a 2nd bye week.

I would like to see them reduce the preseason to 3 games (maybe 2) and then add 1 (maybe) 2 additional regular season games.... This way, they are still playing the same amount of games only it means more

How would that sound???

16 is what it should be. Maybe more than what it should be. If the league decides to make the season any longer they are doing it almost enitrely out of greed.

They should leave it alone.

If they do expand, 17 is better than 18 and the extra game should be an overseas game. The Steelers could be Ireland's team and play a game in Dublin every other year. The Texans could play in Mexico City, the Seahawks in Tokyo, etc.

lets extend the roster to 106 players and have a 32 week season.... this way the players can take turns plaing and resting that would be fun

I am happy with the format we have now there is no reason to change it.

Money is the key for most decisions but so the games will be increased one day but I think 16 games is enough. Too many injuries now!
