I know we can all shed a tear in our beer over guys like Scott Sheilds, Walter Abercrombie, Tim Worley, Jeremy Staat, etc....but any real favorites that you pimped before a draft that never panned out??

I was really high on Rashaun Woods from Oklahoma St a few years ago and thought he would be a talented NFL WR.

I remember the name Adarius Bowman. First round WR prospect who I was hoping to pick up in the 2nd or 3rd. Now he is struggling to cut it in the CFL.

My disclaimer is that it was my first year on this board and a mock draft rookie.

Omar Jacobs and Scott Sheilds along with Kris Farris.

Some of the old-timers may remember my man-crush on Quinton Moses.

Everytime someone brings up one of the draft sleepers I liked that has panned out...I remember Moses and it keeps me humble.

Egboh signed with the 49ers...we will have to wait to see how he does.

Yeah, the fact that Bowman smoked more pot than Ricky Williams was pretty much his downfall.

Keep an eye out for Brandon Browner....former CB from Oregon St. He is having some success in the CFL and may get a look from NFL teams in a year.

Jamarcus Russell. I didn't think he would ever be in the Hall of Fame but I thought he could be a Jeff George/Kerry Collins/Vinny Testaverde type. Maybe he still can if a functional team rolls the dice on him for the league minimum.

Troy Williamson, S.C.

Although, 2005 also had some "drug busts" in the 1st.

Pacman Jones
Matt Jones

Another guy I liked was Michael Huff, TX. He hasn't become as dominant as I thought he once would. :noidea:

i wouldnt consider lynch a bust because of this year...his previous seasons were good....but i agree that he needs a change of scenery

i'm not saying he's a bust. but for being the 12th pick, he's looked very average.

Michael Huff. I thought Brady Quinn would be really good, then Browns drafted him and killed his career. Also thought Orakpo would suck

I know this thread is very old, but had to add my 2 cents worth on it.
I was so hyped about RB Tim Worley from Georgia. This guy was such a beast in college and thought for sure he would be a big hit for the Steelers. And Merril Hoge ended up being the better of those 2 for sure.
Also TE Eric Green I thought could have did alot more with the Steelers, the guy was HUGE and was a Matchup Nightmare for All Defenses, I wish he would have stuck around longer with the Steelers.

Ryan Leaf. I'm still holding out hope that he can resuscitate his career somewhere. Maybe the Steelers will sign him.

I'll go back to the 89 draft when the Steelers had two first round picks and used them on Tim Worley, and Tom Ricketts. I thought the Steelers were set for a return to the top of the league with those two guys, both of which were largely busts.

A lot of people hoped Sweed would become something, but he didn't show me anything in college, other than his height, that hinted towards him being a success in the NFL. I'm going to go with Antonio Pittman here. A BEAST running back coming into the NFL out of Ohio State, yet you'll only here about what he did at Ohio State.

Troy Ewards , our first round pick 1999, was better than the first pick in the draft that year , Tim (get on the ) Couch. so other than donavan that draft sucked,

1992 draft Vaughn Dunbar-RB-Indiana. I was screaming at the tv for us to take him. We had pick #11 and ended up selecting Leon Searcy OT Miami. I was so mad. At the time are running back was Tim Worley and if you remember him we'll you know what I am talking about. This was the draft year before barry foster stepped up. The Saints ended up takin Dunbar with 21st selection. He did almost nothing for that team and was out of the league by 1995

All the video on him made him look awesome. He had the size and I fell in love with the idea of him being Bettis #2. Alas, things never panned out with him. He had some injury problems. Last time I checked he was picked up by San Diego.
