WASHINGTON -- Before walking into the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, police said James von Brunn left behind a notebook in his car denouncing the Holocaust as a lie, and denouncing President Barack Obama.

Mr. von Brunn was charged today with first-degree murder for shooting down a museum security guard who held the door open for him as he walked in with a .22 caliber rifle.

When police search Mr. von Brunn's automobile, parked nearby, they discovered a note declaring:

"You want my weapons -- this is how you'll get them. The Holocaust is a lie. Obama was created by Jews. Obama does what Jew owners tell him to do. Jews captured America's money. Jews control the mass media."

The note, recounted in an affidavit filed by federal authorities, reflected an increasingly violent rhetoric one associate, a self-described "white separatist" from Butler County, said was becoming evident in blast e-mails Mr. von Brunn sent to friends.

"I became concerned because his e-mails were getting more and more violent in tone. We whites, or we white separatists, we're going to be rounded up and killed by Jews in the federal government. This is a widespread feeling in the white separatist community," said John de Nugent, a Rhode Island native who moved to Sarver in February 2008 where he hopes to lead a movement to create a "white safety zone" in a four-state area including Pittsburgh.

"Jews seek to destroy White America. They created Obama to read their 'multicultural' death-message to ignorant Christian sheep. America now teeters on the brink of extinction," Mr. von Brunn wrote May 27.

In earlier e-mails he attacked Jews, called President Barack Obama "a mongrel," and claimed the Catholic Church was "founded by Israelis" and promoted illegal immigration.

Writings dating to 1999 and progressing to the weeks before yesterday's fatal shooting at the Holocaust Museum paint a tableau of conspiracy theory, race hatred and deepening despair.

"Your tactics should be: destroy the enemy before the enemy kills you. Act now!" Mr. von Brunn wrote in one e-mail.

Post-Gazette staff writer Dennis Roddy interviews John de Nugent, who corresponded with James von Brunn in the days leading up to the shootout at the Holocaust Museum in Washington. A Rhode Island native with Western Pennsylvania family roots, Mr. de Nugent describes himself as a white separatist and, like Mr. von Brunn, believes that Jews control much of the power structure in America. He was interviewed during a visit Downtown where he made satellite appearances on the major networks.

any locals hear of this nugent guy or what this "white safety zone" is all about?

even rev. do Wrong is getting in on the act-

http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2009-06-11-wright-obama_N.htm

HAMPTON, Virginia (AP) — President Obama's controversial former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, is blaming "them Jews" for keeping him from speaking to the president.

Wright, the former pastor of Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ, said he hasn't spoken to Obama since he became president.

"Them Jews ain't going to let him talk to me. I told my baby daughter that he'll talk to me in five years when he's a lame duck, or in eight years when he's out of office," Wright told the Daily Press of Newport News following a Tuesday night sermon at the 95th annual Hampton University Ministers' Conference.

"They will not let him to talk to somebody who calls a spade what it is. ... I said from the beginning: He's a politician; I'm a pastor. He's got to do what politicians do."

which begs the question... is all this evil leftist "media" crap just a veiled attempt to hate on jews?

what is most ironic is that the majority of these chuckleheads cant even figure out if he is muslim or in bed with the jews, so he is just labeled as both. :willy:

In 2004, Mr. von Brunn spent several months in Hayden, Idaho, home base of the now-defunct Aryan Nations, a longtime breeding ground for white supremacists and domestic terrorists that included The Order, a supremacist group that carried out murders and armed robberies in the 1980s.

that was rhetorical.

i will leave it to you to find out the answer to your own question, but i will give you a hint... if a muslim shot and killed a guard at the holocaust museum it would be getting EXACTLY the same (if not more) attention.

Actually, my comment was very relevant to this thread.

The answer is simple really. They (the mostly liberal media) took the opportunity to play up the "evil hate filled white man" story, but didn't want to cover the reminder that extremist muslims are here in our country and very dangerous.

as far as your "if a muslim shot and killed a guard at the holocaust museum it would be getting EXACTLY the same (if not more) attention". WTH....how could that POSSIBLY warrant MORE coverage then an American soldier shot and killed on American soil by a Muslim extremist ?!!! I mean honestly, are all liberals as brain dead as you ?

Extremist violence in America: Who's responsible for climate of hate?

http://www.examiner.com/x-2398-Boston-Top-News-Examiner~y2009m6d3-Extremist-violence-in-America-Whos-responsible-for-climate-of-hate

Few Americans tolerate violence or murder. So why, in the political arena, do so many of us make excuses and justifications for those who commit political violence?

In the current political climate, conservatives and liberals are quick to point fingers at the other side in a blame game over who is responsible for cowardly acts that in recent days have taken the lives of a Kansas physician at his church and a U.S. soldier at an Arkansas Army recruiting station.

On Sunday, we heard the shocking news that Dr. George Tiller, a target of anti-abortion groups for providing late-term abortions, had been shot to death at his church. Liberals quickly condemned the act and the suspect, Scott Roeder, as a symptom of a broader problem of right-wing extremism.

Then on Monday, an American man who had converted to Islam opened fire on soldiers at a Little Rock recruitment center, killing one and seriously injuring another. The suspected killer, 23 year old Carlos Bledsoe, who now calls himself Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, is charged with murder and acts of terrorism.

This time, conservatives rang the alarm bells and began making broad assumptions about media coverage of the two incidents and presuming that liberals "sympathized" with the murderer of the soldier (23 year old William Long), because of his stated anti-American views and muslim faith.

On Examiner.com, blogger Kimberly Morin accuses liberals, or the "left," of being "pro-abortion" and "sympathetic to Muslim terrorists." This accusation is appalling and hyperbolic on its face.

Admittedly, the outrage from Liberal sources such as HuffingtonPost and DailyKos has been largely missing on the murder of the soldier. Perhaps it is because it came so closely after the Tiller murder, or because it occurred in a small Southern state, or maybe, because liberals are uncomfortable acknowledging that muslim extremism does exist in this country.

But the attempts by some on the right to throw the charge of sympathizing with extremists and fostering violence back at liberals shows a much larger blindspot on the part of conservatives with respect to their own rhetoric.

continued below. (in reference to being brain dead the bolded portion is for you. i doubt you have time for the rest of the piece.)

RedState blogger "Caleb" wrote that it is liberals who have fostered a climate of hate. "The anti-war left has been creating a climate of hate with regard to our troops individually and our military at large for years, with an increasingly brazen message the last few years," Caleb writes.

As someone who opposed the Iraq war during the height of the 2003 protest movements, I can tell you that the anti-military and anti-soldier rhetoric of some was marginalized and condemned by the vast majority of liberals.

Caleb then refers to an online article posted by Playboy called "So Right It’s Wrong - Ten Conservative Women We Hate To Love” by Guy Cimbalo. The list included Sarah Palin and referred to "hate-f*cking."

Tasteless. But how is Playboy representative of liberals? It's pornography and largely apolitical.

These two examples prove one thing - "hate" is not the sole property of one political perspective. But this argument ignores a litany of hate speech offenses by prominent conservatives that are more broadly accepted and more routinely invoked on the right.

Right-wing eliminationist rhetoric

Sadly, mainstream media star conservatives like Bill O'Reilly calling abortion providers murderers is not an isolated attack.

In a newly published book by David Neiwert, "The Eliminationists: How Hate Talk Radicalized the American Right," we see that conservatives and far-right radicals have been advocating for the outright elimination of unfavored groups, including immigrants, muslims and liberals.

This rhetoric inevitably leads to violence, as Neiwert argues, including the Timothy McVeigh terrorist bombing in Oklahoma City and "lone wolf" shooting sprees like one in July of 2008 in Knoxville, Tennessee, where a man obsessed with killing liberals did just that in a Unitarian Universalist church.

The murderer, Jim David Adkisson, walked into the church and fired off his shotgun, killing two congregants and wounding seven before he was tackled to the ground.

In Adkisson's home were found books by conservative luminaries such as Sean Hannity, Michael Savage and Bill O'Reilley. He left a written manifesto in which he admitted he sought to kill liberals because, in his words:

"Liberals are a pest like termites. Millions of them. Each little bite contributes to the downfall of this great Nation. The only way we can rid ourselves of this evil is Kill them in the streets. Kill them where they gather."

These are the ravings of a man who is clearly off-balance. No jury would convict Sean Hannity as an accessory to the murders because Adkisson read his books.

But the constant stream of hate-filled rhetoric from media sources on the right means these pundits are not without blame.

Some examples from recent years:

Rush Limbaugh: I tell people don't kill all the liberals. Leave enough so we can have two on every campus - living fossils - so we will never forget what these people stood for.

Ann Coulter: My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times building.

Bill O'Reilly: Everybody got it? Dissent, fine; undermining, you're a traitor. Got it? So all the clowns over at the liberal radio network, we could incarcerate them immediately. Will you have that done, please? Send over the FBI and just put them in chains, because they, you know, they're undermining everything and they don't care, couldn't care less.

Michael Reagan: There is this group that's sending letters to our mtroops in Iraq ... claiming 9/11 was an inside job - oh yeah, yeah - and that folks should rethink why they're fighting ... Excuse me, folks, I'm going to say this: We ought to find the people who are doing this, take them out and shoot them. Really. Just find the people who are sending those letters to our troops to demoralize our troops and do what they are doing, you take them out, they are traitors to our country, and shoot them. You have a problem with that, deal with it. But anyone who would do that doesn't deserve to live. You shoot them. You call them traitors - that's what they are - and you shoot them dead. I'll pay for the bullet.

way to go ann coulter! :applaudit: i wonder if sending anthrax to nbc counts?

THis is all pretty funny...why is everyone so extreme and making this political. Weren't all these shootings just terrible events??? All shooters were obviously disturbed people. Bill O Reilly didn't tell someone to shoot the abortion guy. Talk radio didn't do it. Just like liberals didn't force the crazed Muslim fanatic to shoot the soldier.

What a world we live in now...everything has to be made out to be politically motivated.

That being said, I have to admit that Mr. Tiller should have been considered a criminal for what he was doing, but that doesn't mean he should have been shot.
