Does anyone think Frank Summers will see a lot of action this year being a rookie??? and who do you call on Sat morning to try and get through too to get tickets??? even though it's almost impossible from what I've heard.

Frank will see the field. Before any other draft pick as he is a FB and a special team player. He should be first on the field. The CB's and WR's have a longer learning curve.

I sure hope he sees some action, but part of me is a little bit skeptical. The genius in charge of our offensive playcalling seems completely bought into the idea that we should carry four or five RBs on the roster, but never use more than one RB in any particular game. One would hope that we get away from that.

Also, don't forget about Urbik. If he's any good, he's got a real chance to take over as a starter at what has been a pretty weak link in our offensive line.

do OL players usually start their first years? or just play a bit? We might see lewis or wallace start on special teams returning kicks and punts... summers on short yardage for sure, hopefully in the I or some type of 2 back formation. you notice he has gained 12 pounds in the media's eye since we drafted him. he was listed at 242-244 in college and in the draft, but when we picked him the pittsburgh media started posting him at 230. this week im seeing him at 241 again.
he is the same size as michael turner in atlanta. michaels rookie action last year was great. atlanta fans are looking super bowl with him and ryan doing their rookie demo last year. and we should too. Steelers - Atlanta - SB 44 i think summers is number 44 also.. hmmm..

Turner wasnt a rookie last year. He was signed as a FA.

True, he was a successful back up to LT in San Diego.

correct, point was that the first year with atlanta power back made the offense look great with ryan and the smashmouth working. then ryan was able to get into great play action to get up the field without a ton of pressure on him.

It's hard to see anything special in him at this point. He is unproven in the nfl but looking at his film in college the guy has some good feet and speed. He hits the holes hard I think you will see him alot more this year then you think.

I see something special in him, but he is definitely getting overated. with so many runningbacks on the team I doubt he is even active in a game this year

we'll see though, I hope I'm totally wrong

The Tank has pretty good speed for a guy his size, I would not mind at all seeing him on special teams this year. The guy has a motor and wants very badly to play... (anywhere according to him)

hes a fullback... 243lbs... could be our #1 fullback. thats his spot..

hes not going to beat out moore, mendy or willie...

did the bus take over willies job???

At 5'10" and 245 it is going to be tough to keep him from picking up a couple yards. He is also pretty fast. You can mark me down as officially on his bandwagon. I think he is going to have a great career in the NFL.

The bus was here long before Willie came to the team.

The bus was here long before Willie came to the team.

Dude, the point is in Super 40 Willie was the fast running back great. The Bus was the fullback. He got the short yards and buried a tired defense in the 4th qtr.

This year. we may have Summers, he will be a fullback and have the same job as the bus did.

Many people on this board keep talking like Summers is taking or replacing or fighting for the jobs owned by willie, mendy, moore... Summers is going to win the #1 Fullback position. Willie isnt, moore isnt, mendy isnt... thats not their job.

i dont get the confusion...

I know what you are saying. I agree with what you have said Summers is not going to take the jobs away from Willie or Mendenhall he will be brought in for short yardage situations. I see where you are coming from we are just looking at it from 2 different standpoints.:drink:

i hope summers can blast the short yardage and do some damage this year. i would like to see ray lewis get a payback from summers for whacking Mendy last year. summers is younger... lewis is getting old.... could be a good 3rd and 1..
