View Full Version : Smacktalk is part of the NFL, learn to live with it.

Look, here's the deal. Smacktalk has very little to do with the outcome of the game. It's all in your head.

Lots of teams have lots of players who talk, talk, talk. Sometimes they win, sometimes they lose and it has nothing to do with what was or wasn't said before the game.

It's life as we know it in the modern NFL. Personally, I'm starting to enjoy it. It gives me hope that our guys are not just a bunch of sleepwalking, overconfident drones. It gives the team a little personality. (Something the Colts seriously lack). Heck, the only personality on that team is Manning and that's only in his commercials.

If you need a handful of quotes from a member of the opposing team to get you fired up for a game, you're not in the right frame of mind to begin with. On the filpside, talking a little smack probably isn't going to detract from your preparations, and there's the small chance you could get under the skin of your opponents, and I mean SMALL chance.
