Okay, actually 10/24... which will be the day my 10 year-old son and I will be landing in Pittsburgh for our first Steelers home game (his first Steelers game, period). We'll be staying nearby at a hotel on Neville Island.

I can't frickin' wait to see what Heinz Field has in store for us... especially against the Vikings!

If you can afford it, you're better off staying at the Springhill suites northshore. It is walking distance from the stadium, and for just a tip, the van will take you anywhere within a 3 mile radius, which is all of downtown, the strip, the malls, etc.

Enjoy your time.

Thanks guys, we got a really good deal through Travelocity, after comparing the other hotels near downtown. We won't be at the hotel much and with a rental car we'll definitely be sightseeing and getting to the game plenty early.

My wife and I are making our first trip to Pittsburgh for the Steeler/Vike game. Just had a quick question on tailgating, we love to party and would love to meet other Steeler fans, were staying at the Renaissance so do we just pack a cooler of our favorite beverage and stroll thru and party?
