Anybody checking out the games? It's playoff football, baby! If the Steelers lose, I'm going to pull for the 'Hawks. I don't normally cheer for the other conference, but I hate all the remaining AFC teams, and the Seahawks winning will make that list of teams that haven't won the Super Bowl that much shorter (Read: The Cleveland Browns list)

tony hipchest

plus the hawks arent far removed from being an afc team themselves. i hate rooting for the nfc teams too although i liked the rams and bucs vs. raiders. heres my rooting interests for the remainder (in order):

pitt
colts
bears
seahawks
carolina
washington
denver
patriots

that would suggest i actually rooted for the pats to make the playoffs. i would rather watch pats and the steelers but if i had to give rings out to either the broncos or the pats, it pains me to say it would be the donkeys (call it a regional rooting interrest) plus ive liked plummer since his arizona days.

i hear ya how it sucks when youd rather have all 4 remaining nfc teams win over all but 1 afc team. i have to root for the bears cause of my fiancee (and urlacher-UNM's greatest product out of lovington, nm) and she roots for the steelers. after all we named our daughter payton teresa (terry) after walter and bradshaw:cool:

good thing were both nascar fans too. our next kid will be rusty ryan:blurp: (just ryan if its a girl)

No Redskin fan here but with Washington playing well I think this could bode well for the Steelers tomorrow.

The long trip out to the West Coast, Seattle having the extra rest, and the loud crowd at Quest Field doesn't seem to bothering the Skins one bit.

You know, this is VERY interesting...if Washington wins, that's what? Only the 2nd time a #6 knocked off a #1? Wouldn't it be something if all 4 road teams won their games this weekend? Not saying it's gonna happen, but I'm sure it would be a first...

that was an awesome pass by hasselbeck and a good job of jackson not giving away when the ball was coming. hasselbeck 76% 10 td -i td in december. yet all we hear about is alexander.

I'm still trying to figure out how a WR, running turned around and looking for the ball, touching no defender, who has a LB in front of him with his back to the ball INTERFERING with the WR, gets called for offensive pass interference, a call that is NEVER flagged in the NFL?

You practically have to take a bat and knock a defender down in this league to draw that flag, and he never even brushed into the defender.

That was horrible homecooking for Seattle, and scares me for the game tomorrow.

well it should've been a no call, if you watch the replay the lb turned his head so that means he was playing the ball so that means there shouldn't have been a call at all

Yes, at BEST there's no flag...then you might call defensive pass interference...however, there was nothing even close to approaching offensive pass interference on that play. That single call took anywhere from 3-7 points off the board for the Skins.

I don't even care about the outcome, as I'm pulling for the Hawks...what worries me is how blatantly awful the call was, and I'm suspicious of home teams getting phantom calls in the playoffs...

It's still heartening. This is a loud stadium with a good home team (Hell, Seattle looks like they could compete in the AFC, something they were never able to do when they were in the conference), and a horrible Washington offense was still able to kep this game close.

The Steelers offense is a much different story...

bradys been on his back 3 times in the 1st half. 1st key to success against the pats. then he almost throws an int. and then has to call a time out. looks a little shell shocked.

trying to catch denver offsides isnt working either. different story having to deal with the crowd noise.

the whole key to this game is half a second. if the OL can just give Brady half a second more time to step into his throws he can torch them. His long bomb to Davis came when they rolled him out. This was a Weis specialty, if the pressure was on, change up the pattern of the drop back.

so what im sensing is you guys would rather play the Broncos than the Patriots next week?

I think we'll play the better team than both tomorrow...should we win, we'll play the best team available...

I'll say this for the Broncos, they sure pounce on mistakes and they dont beat themselves.

I have absolutly no love for the pats ( Have hated them back since Grogan was a QB there) but I must say that they got the shaft big time twice tonight. The pass interference in the endzone was total bs and they should have gotten a touchback on Champs interception return. That being said I am tickled to see them losing.

naw. theres nothing to suggest the "dynasty is over". just 2005 maybe.

woudnt it be hysterical if Brady led them back. 24-13

hmmm and people want ben to pass more like the conference leaders carson, tom, & peyton.

i think the pats fell into the trap of thinking they didnt need to run the ball to win a game, or their rb's were just too banged up to play effectively. it was interesting to see how brady and the patriots would handle having a 10 pt. deficit in a playoff game.

hit brady early and they lose. same with peyton. go steelers!

Once again I'll hand it the Broncos. They beat the Patriots twice in one season. They played mistake free football and took advantage of every mistake the Patriots made.
they deserve it. This season is like the Steelers in '76 and '77, the 49ers in the mid-80's, and the '94 Cowboys. Interuptions. like I said, with our nucleus of young talent, the best coach, the best clutch QB (did you think he'd go 30-0 in the playoffs or something?),the best organization, a boatload of draft picks, and Light,Koppen, and Harrison coming back, 2006 looks pretty darn good.
Good luck tomorrow Steelers. But even if you win, Its going to be tough for you to beat this Denver team.

Like beating the Colts at home as 10 point underdogs?
