Go to NFL.com and vote for Ben as best NFL QB... Hes only has 9% of the vote.
I would agree he is proubably the 3rd or 4th best QB but I would like to see him hit at least 10% of the vote...

I don't get the Drew Brees thing.

Ben is simply the best quarterback for the situation he is in in the entire NFL. I don't know how well he would function elsewhere.

Kinda like Bradshaw and look how he did!

And I wouldn't trade Ben for any other QB in the league!

I don't get the Drew Brees thing.

Well, he did come within 15 yards of breaking the single season passing yards record last season. Pretty impressive. Not to mention he's brought both San Diego and New Orleans out of irrelevancy.

I don't get the Drew Brees thing.about 14,000 yds (almost broke marino's single season record w/5000 last year) and 88 tds in the last 3 years alone.

always right around 65% comp and 95.0 passer rating.

i still take ben, but i think brees is slightly underrated and an afterthought when it comes to talking about the leagues best since he hasnt been to a superbowl.

I totally agree with you on Brees. He's a pretty darned good QB, but really has nothing to show for his efforts that would put him in the "Best QB Category".

Though Ben has 2 rings and almost assuredly will have several more before he hangs up his cleats one day, I don't believe he has totally seen his potential yet and thus, hasn't reached his peak (which to us Steelers fans gets the blood pumpin' but to other teams, kind of scary). Because I believe he can reach the top plateau as the league's top QB one day very soon, I gave him my vote.

Stats are for fantasy players. I want a real QB on my real team and his name is Ben.

Big Ben has the potential to put up drew brees #'s. As long as our o-line gets better and willie parker does good, that will open up the passing game.

I don't think we'll ever pass THAT much. After all, Brees is only the 2nd QB in NFL history to go over 5,000 yards passing in a season when he came within 15 yards of breaking Marino's single-season record last year.

I agree that I don't think we'll ever pass that much. But we could. Ben has the talent and supporting cast. Especially if Sweed pans out.

Well, why not set a high goal ?

Well, why not set a high goal ?

Because it's not very realistic given the way our team has historically played and chances are if he's putting the ball in the air that much, we're losing a lot of games. After all, what does Brees ultimately have to show for almost breaking Marino's single-season yardage record last season besides an 8-8 record and a last-place finish in the NFC South? Add to that the fact that not one of the teams that had one of the top 5 QBs in the NFL in terms of passing yardage last season (Brees, Warner, Cutler, Rodgers, and Rivers, in that order) won more than 9 games. I want wins, not gaudy passing numbers.
