Unemployment Goes Broke in Texas

Bad news for the unemployed, Texas' unemployment fund will be empty by next week.

People who have been out of work for 59-weeks or more and are eligible for the additional 13 weeks of unemployment benefits are the only ones who will be affected.

That amounts to about 15-thousand people statewide. Those 15,000 in the extended benefits program will not get a check until the money comes back from the department of labor.

The Texas Workforce Commission's has already taken out interest-free loans from the Department of Labor to keep paying the regular unemployment insurance.

Bottom line, if you're one of the 822,000 Texans claiming unemployment, just hang in there.

G Dub moves back and the state goes broke.

go figure.

the great thing about living in TX, FLA, NV, etc. is no state taxes.

excuse me while i go shed a tear for the 15,000 who have been out of work for a year and 2 months who thought they had an additional 13 weeks to find a job.

send them to me, cause i am hiring. (welcome to the predators and reapers)

Obama was here in NJ yesterday. Apparently, he said "Jobs" more times than the actual number of jobs he's created.

He's trying to help the Gov up there because apparently there is a Conservative getting ready to run that has a real chance. And if NJ Has a GOP Governor, the 2010 election cycle is going to blow up in the Dems face in a hard way.

NJ isn't a state that should even need to be considered Battle Ground for the Dems, but apparently, its flipping that way. He's there to try and cut that off, and probably offer Acorn money to get people out to talk up his health Plan. http://www.dailypaul.com/node/99671

Not sure what their address four years ago has to do with it. You can only collect unemployment if you worked and then got laid off.
