I was kind of hoping we would bring him in for a look.

Well, he's not a #1 IMO. However, if D. Mason comes back they'll have pretty darn good WR corps.

Didn't they get rid of their monster FB that was the lead guy in their Heavy Fomation?

Who's their lead blocker now?

Eh, Drew Bennett is decent. He's nothing special.

I'm not worried.

Not really, other than Bennett and Mason they will have nothing. It will just improve the recieving corp a bit.

Mason is retired, and Bennett ain't no Mason.

Flacco still needs to find time in the pocket to stretch the field. You can't throw off your buttocks, especially with Harrison and Woodley tattooed to your rib cage.

They could've used that money spent on that past his prime dancing LB to get someone better. But oh well.

I look forward to the challenge. The question is, will he play like he's doing the past 3 or so years, or will he play like when he was a fan favorite of the Titans fans?

It ended as quickly as it began. Drew Bennett retires.

Drew Bennett Glorious Run With Ravens Ends in Retirement

Thursday, the Ravens agreed to a deal with veteran wide receiver Drew Bennett, in hopes that he would fill the gap created by Derrick Mason's retirement. That plan lasted all of two days.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Bennett decided to retire on Saturday due to old knee injury.

Sooooo...let me get this straight. The BEST receiver the Ravens brought in... was a gimp, semi-retired vet that lasted two days???!!!!

:rofl::rofl:

Breaking News

In a joint press conference, Amani Toomer and Marvin Harrison announced that both of them are prepared to retire.... pending an expected contract agreement with the Ravens.
The only other reciever being actively pursued by Baltimore is former Vikings reciever Chris Carter. Ozzie Newsome was reported to be looking into having the aging player reinstated for 24 hours so that the Ravens might be able to work out some form of compensation before Carter could immediately retire and return to broadcasting.
When free agent WR DJ Hackett was told about Toomer and Harrisons decision, he stated. "Damn!, I hope the Ravens dont offer me a contract. I was hoping to play at least one more year."

Well, Mason is a terror to us (and always has been) without Bennett. Bennett isn't a chump and Mark Clayton will have another year under his belt. Over look them if you want, but I won't.
