CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Browns (http://www.nfl.com/teams/clevelandbrowns/profile?team=CLE) have placed wide receiver Braylon Edwards (http://www.nfl.com/players/braylonedwards/profile?id=EDW127548) on the non-football injury list.

The Browns didn't specify an injury in making the announcement Tuesday. A message seeking comment was left with a Browns spokesman.
Edwards is the only established receiver on Cleveland's roster, and he was mostly a spectator during the team's three-day camp in June because of an undisclosed injury. At the time, Edwards and new Browns coach Eric Mangini said the injury wasn't serious, and Mangini added that the receiver was expected to fully participate in the team's training camp, which begins Saturday

Yup and so my franchise get it's first snakebite of the season, pretty typical.

Staph being reported via the fan sites I frequent.

The Browns need to move their faculties are something, this is getting ridiculous

It was "ridiculous" 2 years ago. It's criminal at this point. What the hell are they thinking about over there dude?

Next time somebody from Cleveland refers to Pittsburgh as a "shithole," just remind them that the Steelers aren't the ones with all the staph infections.

This came at a good time. I dont want to be a douchebag, but right when some Browns fans were laughing about Big Ben's situation, we can bring this up to them up :flap:

Annnnnnd last but not least..

Now, what was that again?

And also, the Browns are far from the only team that have had to deal with such a thing.

And for the record, while I wouldn't want to live in the actual city (like I wouldn't wanna live in inner city cleveland), I wouldn't mind living in Butler/Cranberry area. Very pretty area and seems like a nice place to live overall.

Also an update per OBR user claimed he did Edwards walking around a bit playing basketball with a walking cast..

problem is you expect to see it in jails nursing home & hospitals NOT in the locker room of a team. The stains clearly have a problem. the 03 trojans & 05 gators solved their problem BUT it would seem the stains didnt that is the difference

The team has refused to disclose the injury that sidelined Edwards in June. One source said that Edwards hurt his ankle playing basketball.

False Alarm. This does seem really plausible btw, good friend of mine played pick up game with when he was at Minicamp (He goes to Baldwin-Wallace in berea)

Yeah, that's JUST the kind of high character guy we'd like to have in the B&G:chuckle:

You're so right, The Steelers would never ever ever ever allow someone with character issues on their team.

Rooney was okay with it though, I mean, it was only for his son's baptism. So, No harm, no foul no?

And I mean all the Steelers have kept away from Drugs unlike Mr. Cribbs, they're all pretty clean right?

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/08299/922794-66.stm

Oh, that's right, both of these guys did this while playing with you guys. Cribbs did this while he was a stupid kid in college. :coffee:, silly me.

Also, I mean since we're both Cavs fan, I'm sure you'll agree with me that we should get rid of LeBron for his little incident.

Point being made, Athletes are like people and some make stupid, stupid mistakes, but so long as they make good with it, man up and own it and learn from it, I don't mind them playing on any of me teams.

If you dig hard enough, you'll find a smattering of incidents. But the last Steeler who was caught with the amount of dope Cribbs had in his possession was Bam Morris, and they cut him the next day. Steelers would have never drafted him in the first place. Toss in the fact that he's turned out to be a whiny malcontent and he's the exact opposite of "Steelers material".

If you'd like to engage in a competition of which teams has produced more dirtbags, I'd say the Browns have had more thugs, criminals, crybabies and locker room poisons in the last two years than the Steelers have had in the last twenty.
