Cardinals' Wells hurt in first practice


FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- Running back Beanie Wells didn't quite make it through his first practice with the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday.

He rolled his left leg in a collision with Jason Banks late in the workout and was taken off on a cart. He was smiling as he left and the team said they were looking at his left ankle. It wasn't known how serious the injury was.

The Buck haters will be all over this, but Beanie gets dinged all the time. No biggie...he missed what? 3 games in 3 years?

He's much more durable than he's given credit for...

Also, he's slimmed way down. He played at like 238, was up to 246, so the Cards asked him to trim down. He's tipping in at a lean, mean 224 right now. And wait til the haters get a load of him catching out of the backfield. Just because OSU doesn't ask that of it's backs doesn't mean they can't. He's actually an exceptional pass catching back...

Agreed.

He played the entire 2007 season with an ankle problem that required surgery after the season, but he never asked to take a play off.

Just wait until one of the SS's in the NFC thinks they can tackle Wells and he runs right through them.

I think Wells if he can stay healthy will be a very nice back for that Cards team, but he will have a learning experience in the NFL as well that those SS are not boys either.. so it goes both ways
