Yuuuup, I've decided to reward myself with a steelers room...painting was a complete pain in the ass. The home depot guy recommended the wrong primer, which was a grey. It turned the PIT GOLD color green after the first coat, and I had to apply 4 more coats to get it looking right. The black went on great, only needed 2 coats, but I prolly could have gotten away with 1. The borders are on the way. I found a seller on eBay that sells diamond plate style vinyl in different colors. check em out

I think it'll come out pretty good.

I'll post more pics once i get all the memorabilia framed and up. It's gunna be BADASS people!!!! WOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! :tt03::tt03::tt03::tt03::tt03::tt03::tt03::tt03:

I did my office in a Cleveland Indians theme (don't ask - I've been a Steeler fan since 1972 anyways). Trust me, you're not wanna come out of your man cave.

My only thought is to add a nice desk/chair. You can get them at Staples. Desk was about $250; mine's in cherry. The chair was about the same and it's leather. Believe me, you'll want a nice chair and desk to complete the look.

Chair rail would neatly cover the white line between the two colors. I just figured you could use the diamond plate. Not sure what it would look like though.

Yeah, that! For some reason i couldn't remember what it was called..
If you cut the diamond plate stuff, there would be more to go around. Either way the stuff looks cool & the room is looking awesome so far.
I agree with the door. What if you painted it black & put some posters on it? Or maybe do some kind of collage thing with a bunch of magazine or newspaper pics? You could also think of using the leftover diamond plate stuff as a kind of mat in some of your framework?

Don't go with posters on the door; IMO that'll look tacky. Better off to perhaps use the plating on the six raised-up sections of the door and paint everything else black. Or, go with black around the sides and paint the raised sections gold.

Just my $0.02, though. It's looking great. :tt:

P.S. I'm glad you're getting a big desk and nice chair. Trust me, you won't regret it and may never leave the room. :wink02:

Awesome job so far! But ya know...the door actually doesnt look bad white...it breaks everything up a little. In reality white is one of the Steelers colors (away jerseys/etc), i think it looks ok the way it is, but of course its not my room. A room i painted last year, the design was a green and tan...and we left the 2 doors we have in there white...and it just broke things up enough. Like you dont want toooo tacky....or too much of the main colors...the white door just makes it look right. Seems like a lot of people would disagree, but you dont want to trash the room by putting something like posters, that tread plate decal stuff or whatever on it...also with your molding that goes along the bottom of the wall being white it matches even more! Just my thoughts on things....

Heres how I currently have my mcfarlanes displayed. Before anybody jumps on me for being 1 trophy short, I will have the sixth one soon. My plan is to build a shelf for all the Steelers Supeerbowl mvps. It will consist of a mcfarlane figure and autographed mini helmet of each player. I also would like to put the superbowl logo on the shelf behind the mvp but it will be difficult when I get to Bradshaw with him winning 2. I think it will just look odd. I will also put the trophies on the shelf. I am currently attempting to make a custom SB XL Ward figure like Vincent made. We will see how that turns out. I am also working on a throwback James Farrior. If those work out, I will make throwback Timmons, Harrison and Woodleys as well and display them with auto graphed mini helmets. All of which will be on the yellow 75th aniv. helmet.

My Autographed helmets on the left from top to bottom are
Santonio Holmes
Jack Lambert
James Harrison (yellow)
Troy Polamalu
Lawrence Timmons (yellow)
Ben Roethlisberger
On the right from top to bottom are
Franco Harris
The Steel Curtain (Greene, White, Holmes, Greenwood) got that 2 months before Holmes died
Lamaar Woodley (yellow)
Joey Porter
Barry Foster
Myron Cope

Thanks man. It look's great in person. Stepping back and looking at the whole room it looks really good. It is a lot thinner than i thought it was going to be, and very light. It sets up easy. I just lined it up perfectly to a flat edge surface and let it run. I didn't even have to make measurements, it leveled out perfectly on its own, and goes through corners nicely. The only thing bad i can say is when you press/stick it up, you can kinda see the lumps of your painted wall if ya know what i mean. It's because it's super thin. It's not a big deal to me though at all. You can probably fix that issue if you use a different finish....Overall, very satisfied.

It came in a roll (rolls)? I thought you had 1/8'" tiles. Hmmm, that does sound easy to work with. I STILL haven't started repainting yet. lol. Too much stuff to take down and if I don't re-do the foyer first, I may end up a bachelor. lol
