CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) -- A woman who has accused Ben Roethlisberger of raping her at a Lake Tahoe hotel drafted her own resignation letter in an e-mail as a spoof after she had sex with the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, according to court documents filed by lawyers seeking to dismiss the case on behalf of seven casino employees.

The e-mail and others between the woman and Guy Hyder, chief of security at Harrah's Lake Tahoe, were included in the motion filed late Tuesday in Washoe District Court in Reno.

In one e-mail to Hyder, the woman apparently spoofed a memo from Harrah's President John Koster to staff, announcing her immediate resignation.

"She is with Big Bens child and ... she has relocated to Pittsburgh," the e-mail said. "We wish her good luck (she will need it) in her future endeavors."

The woman's lawyer did not immediately return calls for comment Wednesday evening.

The woman, a VIP casino hostess, filed the civil suit against Roethlisberger in July, claiming the Super Bowl-winning quarterback raped her in 2008 in a hotel penthouse across the street from a golf course where he was playing in a celebrity tournament.

Roethlisberger and his lawyers deny the woman's allegations, and last week accused her in court documents of fabricating the assault to extort a big payoff from him.

The woman said she reported the incident to Harrah's security but never filed a criminal complaint because she feared Harrah's would side with Roethlisberger and she would be fired. She also accused Harrah's officials of orchestrating a cover-up.

The suit seeks a minimum of $440,000 in damages from Roethlisberger, at least $50,000 in damages from the eight Harrah's officials named as defendants and an unspecified amount of punitive damages.

In the motion to dismiss, Margo Piscevich, attorney for several casino workers, including Hyder, said the woman kept the casino security chief "informed with running e-mail commentary about her plan to have sex with Roethlisberger."

"Hyder did not report it to management, since having consensual sex with a hotel patron, while on the job, would get her fired," the motion said.

It added that her suit "is cloaked in a media-attention-getting, sensationalized and inflammatory pleading" that lacks any legal basis against the casino workers.

The woman alleges Roethlisberger assaulted her after she went to his room to fix his television.

In another e-mail exchange with Hyder, she reportedly wrote, "Hail Mary full of grace give me the strength to not go to his room to fix his television."

Now for my question: since Ben would face at least 10 yrs in prison for committing this crime, what should his accuser face for lying?

I'm sure she will be punished to the fullest extent of the law. The courts have better things to do than waste time on fraudulent cases.

Our laws are so screwed up.

Rape someone, and you get years in prison.

Lie on someone and accuse them of something they didn't do, then NOTHING happens to you! You just get a slap on the wrist. Man, I tell ya...............

Oh and as far as your poll goes, I don't think Ben is facing any time in this matter. I am pretty sure this is just a civil suit, not a criminal case, I could be wrong though.

I used to live in Carson City and they love making examples out of people like her, especially if its a higher profile case like this.

Its a civil suit.

I said other because I'm not sure what kinda time she could(should) get when prosecuted.

I think as punishment, they should make her have sex with Casey Hampton. See how she likes that. It would probably be like getting run over by a garbage truck.

This gold-digger deserves every bad thing she has coming to her. Rape is a very serious crime in this country. She (and so many others before her) treat this crime as some kind of joke and an opportunity to get rich. Rape is not the kind of thing to cry wolf over. If you're going to report sexual assault, you better be damned serious. Being accused of rape is no laughing matter. In this country, the saying "Innocent until proven guilty" is dead. Being accused of something alone can destroy one's reputation.

Suppose one day, a woman actually gets raped by a professional athlete. She has to face the pressure of not only coming forward, but she has to keep her story in check. Who the hell is going to believe the actual victims?

That's pretty funny. The picture of that in my mind gave me a good laugh.

Seriously though, Ben and all Steeler fans should be happy that this woman is such a moron. If there wasn't all of this evidence pointing out that she's obviously lying, this thing could be looked at in a much different light and could be draged on and on causing serious distraction for the team.

Only Other applies. Ben could sue her for slander and abuse of process civilly.

Very true. She also has a lazy lawyer who didn't check things out.

If it is found that she fabricated this whole thing for monetary gain, as it appears she may very well have done, then how about making her serve 6 months doing community service, say, scrubbing floors in a shelter for battered women.

Best idea yet. That would be the eye-opener this particular woman needs.

She did a LOT of damage to Ben.

Make her the laundress for the raiders. That'd be plenty of "romance" for her.

I did other because Ben isn't facing jail, just the loss of lots and lots of money.

Personally, I think that Ben should sue her for defamation of character. Even if he knows he will never get much out of her, ruin her financially for the rest of her life.

She should also be forced to work community service by cleaning the bathroom for 5,000 hours at a shelter for rape victims.

Worse than that, he probably did check these things and pushed on anyway. I couldnt imagine him not trying his best to gather information with all that money on the line.

The solution to stop this kind of madness is the one used by every other country that has a "tort" legal system. It is "loser pays". For example in the United Kingdom if you file a civil suit against some one and you lose, then you pay their attorney's fees and court costs.

Here in this country you can sue anyone for just about anything and if you lose you pay only your attorney's fees. Who ever you sued has to pay their own attorney. This is why we have so many civil suits in this country and why it is cheaper to settle out of court rather than fight it.

The reason we don't have loser pays in this county is that the Trail Lawyers Association is one of the largest lobbies in Washington. They spend lots of money on campaign contributions to make sure that we never do.

Not having "loser pays" encourages the filing of frivolous lawsuits like McNutty. However it also keep lots of trial lawyers employed. Also consider that the majority of our elected officials are lawyers.

We truly have the best government that money can buy.

I hold nothing but contempt for this bitch and any other "woman" out there who can sleep at night knowing that they out and out lied to extort money from and ruin the reputation of an innocent man.

In a perfect world

A woman who falsely accuses a man of rape, wether filing criminal or civil charges, would immediately be sentenced to 2 years in prison, no parole, once it is proven she lied. WOOT.

Attorneys for Ben Roethlisberger have notified the attorney for the woman who claims she was sexually assaulted by the Steelers quarterback that they intend to seek sanctions against him for the “frivolous” lawsuit filed against the millionaire football player. The attorneys notified Reno attorney Calvin Dunlap on Tuesday that he has 21 days to rectify what they call factual errors in the lawsuit before they seek sanctions against him in the Second Judicial District Court of Nevada where the suit was filed. Dunlap is representing the Nevada resort worker who claims that Roethlisberger sexually assaulted her on July 11, 2008, at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe Hotel and Casino, where she worked as a VIP concierge and he was attending a celebrity golf tournament. :noidea: goin after her lawyer ?

I knew this had no legs. If you notice the major media isn't touching it. Had their been fire where there was smoke Ben would have been torn into shreds by now. Instead, they are just mentioning it in passing. They've done their investigation, found nothing, and now won't be a party to this. That's my take.
