Marshall is doing nothing but lowering his own value on the trading block. It's become quite a soap opera here locally. What a douche.

They should keep him on the roster and sit his arce on the sidleine during games.... or just deactivate him each week

Broncos suspend Marshall for conduct detrimental to team

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- The Denver Broncos have suspended Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Marshall for unspecified "detrimental" conduct amid a rocky summer training camp.

Career Statistics
Receptions: 226
Yards: 2,899
Touchdowns: 15
The Broncos announced the suspension Friday but didn't say how long it would last.

Marshall has been open about his unhappiness with the Broncos and asked for a new contract or a trade. He acknowledged he hasn't learned new coach Josh McDaniels' playbook and was held out of last Sunday's preseason game at Seattle.

During Wednesday's warmups, Marshall walked while the rest of the team was running, punted a ball away instead of handing it to a ball boy and swatted away a pass thrown to him. The incidents were caught on video and aired by KMGH-TV.

Can't they suspend him without pay?

Looks like they did just that.

Broncos' Marshall suspended over conduct

By Mike Klis

The Denver Post

For his punt and other acts of misbehavior, the Broncos have given receiver Brandon Marshall the boot.

The Broncos have suspended Marshall for conduct detrimental to the team.

Marshall's apology Thursday night on ESPN was too late. The punishment stems from Marshall's shameful display of unprofessionalism during practice Wednesday. He was lackadaisical during individual running drills. He didn't run routes or catch passes during another position drill, instead choosing to hold a dummy and knocking the receivers as they came off the line.

A KMGH-7 video caught Marshall punting the ball away after one drill instead of handing it to a ball boy, as the players are told.

Marshall was held out of practice Wednesday, but that was before the Broncos were aware of the magnitude of his insubordination.

Broncos coach Josh McDaniels decided to suspend Marshall this morning. The length of the suspension is not known although Marshall is not expected to play in the Broncos' next preseason game Sunday night against the Chicago Bears and his former quarterback, Jay Cutler.

It's possible Marshall could be suspended without pay into the early part of the regular season. Last year, the Carolina Panthers suspended receiver Steve Smith for two games for his part in a brawl with a teammate..

Marshall caught 206 passes the previous two seasons for the Broncos, enough production for him to request a contract extension that has one year and $2.198 million remaining. He has twice requested a trade.

Perhaps realizing the circulating video of his misconduct could all but kill his ability to get traded, Marshall went on ESPN's NFL Live show at 10:42 p.m. MST to explain his actions.

"Me punting the ball was definitely frustration," Marshall said. "It was an error in judgment. There was a lot of frustration (Wednesday) coming out of a meeting."

McDaniels would not explain the reason behind Marshall's absence from practice Thursday.

when are these over paid athletes going to learn that you cant always get what you when you want.

they should go by this saying..(my son learned in school) you get what you get and you dont have a fit!

Who cares. He has done nothing but embarass himself time and time again.

I hope he is inactive all season. He is the type of guy that will wake up one day broke and not understand why no one respects him

The Broncos are officially competing with the Raiders for the most unstable team in the AFC West. Or maybe just the AFC.

I think he can be suspended for either four or six weeks max before they have to reinstate him.

If legal matters don't take out Cable then I think the Broncos are gonna be the biggest crash and burn this year. At least with Cable in Oakland the players actually like him and are trying to help him keep his job. Plus Davis seems to have backed up Cable after he decked Hanson or whatever he did to Hanson.

The Broncos though are in a mess. But I don't blame them for suspending him, I wouldn't put up with that BS ether if I were them.

I think part of the reason Marshall wants a new contract now instead of later is because he knows his stats are going to drop with Kyle Orton as his QB and the offense that McDaniels has installed in Denver.

McDaniels is going to crash and burn because he came in and instead of adjusting his offense to fit the players on the team, he decided he was going to put his offense in. Knowing that Cutler isn't the ideal QB for his offense, he tried to trade Cutler and it backfired...and then he lied about trying to trade Cutler to get Cassel.

Look at it this way. When Tomlin came in most Steelers fans were worried that he was going to bring his 4-3 Cover Two scheme and scrap the aggressive 3-4 zone-blitz that the Steelers have been running for about 20 years.

If Tomlin would have done that, I think the players and the fans would have been pissed.

That's a lot like what is happening in Denver.

The good coaches change their ways to fit their personnel. The bad ones stick with the same thing even when the players they have don't fit the scheme.

However, Brandon Marshall has handled this all wrong. He hasn't endeared himself to other teams who need a WR, they don't want to give up what the Broncos would be asking for someone who acts like this, much less someone with the off-the-field problems that he has had.

Wow, that was smart.

The Broncos are looking like a full-fledged nuclear disaster this season.
