After cuts and the roster is down to 53, are players allowed to re-pick numbers? Just curious if they are allowed to change them bc im sure the newer guys were just given numbers...

some do change numbers. Dont know if its a coach's decision or player, But i remember Hines Ward came in with #15 then changed to 86

Of course when more numbers free up there are changes, thats why its always best bet to wait to get a certain jersey (esp like a custom one for a player who dont have jerseys out there as much as the big names), until the final roster/numbers are made.

I remember LaMarr Woodley coming in and using #55 then switched to his #56 when the season started.

Yeah Woodley switched to 56 after we cut Chucky Okobi. Im just curious...Logan is a WR Im almost posisitive tha wide outs cant have a number in the 40's?

Logan has played some WR...but doesnt make him an official one...i wouldnt be surprised to see him stay under the label of RB...esp since it looks like we cut Redman and Davis...so the 5th HB spot is open..and i thin kthats where Logan will fit in..so he could keep his num

The Bears' Devin Hester is officially listed as a WR, but wears #23 since he was officially drafted as a CB. Perhaps they'll do the same with Logan since he signed as a RB and allow him to keep his number if he switches to WR. I think they'll just keep him as a RB though.

When Joey Porter was drafted the team issued him # 95 and after the preseason he requested a number change.

They can change but there is just certain numbers that they can use at each position.

Actually, Logan almost didn't get a chance to change it.

Santonio and Ward warned Logan that if he didn't take a kick to the house, they were going to drop number 81 on him... quite funny as it is Troy Edwards old number (though I am not sure what significance that has for Logan).
