Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, wide receiver Hines Ward, inside linebacker James Farrior and kicker Jeff Reed will again serve as captains for the Steelers.

Joining them as captains this season are outside linebacker James Harrison, the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, and inside linebacker Keyaron Fox, who will represent the Steelers' special teams along with Reed.

The Steelers announced the captains today after practice.

I have a feeling Fox might be on the field alot this season next to Farrior.

I'm a bit surprised to see Fox named a captain, not that he's not deserving of it, though. I like all of the choices.

Sweeet. Harrison is finally getting his due after toiling in abscurity for all those years, but despite the adversity, did not ever give up. A true inspiration.

Excellent choices! :applaudit: I, too, feel that Fox is going to be an impact player and will see some significant time on the field this season. :hope:

Fox won't see much time on the defensive side of the ball. Timmons is taking over for Foote. Fox is our ST specialists.

Fox is a beast on special teams. And if Timmons can't go on Thursday (I hope Timmons can go), I have all the confidence in Fox to hold the fort down.
