Ditto man, hopefully this game will be decided by who plays better not due to turnovers like the last Steelers/Titans matchup or the way the Titans/Ravens game went. :drink:

I am just ready for some real football.. Preseason football is such a tease and steelers/titans as the first game of the year is a good test for both... I expect a real slobber knocker, cheers to no injuries and no ref bafoonery....:drink:

Percentage wise, either team has an equal shot at winning, because it's opening night. Beside from paper, you don't know how either squad is going to come out of the gate on opening night. This will separate the contender from the pretender. Judging from the way Tennessee's offense looked in the pre-season, which was putrid, I have a great feeling about Thursday Night's game. I think Pitt takes this one single handily in front of a rocking crowd of Heinz Field, all in the midst of celebrating a 6th championship.

StainlessStill,

That's what I don't like about preseason... It is all vanilla play calling and Fisher refuses to show his hand with the first team... In other words Blocking schemes were man on man not zone which we ussually run and if a player was even nicked he didn't play anymore..

We were missing Stewart and Mawae from the oline for all but the last preseason game, so our running game is hard to judge without them and without our normal blocking schemes...

Washington has been a big upgrade over J McCariens, but he isn't our no.1.. Collins and Gage have that chemistry going.. One thing I have noticed about NATE (who my son loves since he got his autograph 3 times after practices..lol) is that he is perfect in practice and then drops a few in the games...I think he will have a big year but I see the same problems he had in pitt.. drops at bad times..

our D has yet to be seen, preseason for the titans is all about 2nd and 3rd team evaluation and first team execution of vanilla plays... Hard to judge by preseason..

I just hope like hell Vince Young never has to enter the game... You might have heard of him, he is our 4th year rookie QB..lol

Speaking of QBs, Dixon looked great in preseason. I am also super impressed with your new return guy Logan..

We go through the same thing here every preseason with our offense, though this year, the 1st team offense looked great in the Bills game. Ben was as sharp as you can be in a preseason game, and our running game, while it still has some kinks to work out, looked good as well. I am still concerned about our OL against your front 4, so this will be a good litmus test for them.

Nice to see that Nate Washington hasn't changed a bit :wink02: We Steelers fans complained about that for years with him. Sweed and McDonald will be upgrades over Nate, though Sweed at times has dropped easy balls. Look out for rookie WR Mike Wallace - he's a burner who can stretch the field and has pretty good hands. He may get a few snaps when they go 4-wide.

Dixon unfortunately was injured in the Bills game and will be out, but he did look really good when he was out there. And Logan...we haven't had a returner with this much potential since Randle El left. If he brings the same things to the regular season that he did in the preseason, his presence alone will make things much easier on the offense, while being a legitimate threat to score every time he touches the ball. You may also see him get in on a few offensive plays as well.

Our first-team D did not allow a TD in the preseason even while running vanilla schemes, so I expect them to be excellent as usual. Your D is still pretty damn good even without Haynesworth, so I'm expecting a good battle there.

VY is still playing? LOL  Seriously, are you guys planning on using the Wildcat with him?

I really don't think Vince would be good in the wildcat... They would have to change it to the fraidy cat for him to run it.. He is scared of getting hit...

Can't wish you good luck, Tinman, but I can wish your team an injury-free game and an "L" in your column when the final second ticks off that clock. :flap::tt02:

Thanks for being a such a good sport and a gentleman. :drink::hatsoff:
