It amazes me that the march on Washington this weekend hasn't made this forum. That a million or so folks got themselves to the Capitol to express their anger at this dolt and his congress is significant.

Not too much coverage by the US "media", which should surprise nobody. ABC in all their journalistic "integrity" "estimated" the crowd at 60-70,000.

But the international coverage is surprisingly sparse. The UK Mail stepped up with...

"The administration" will further ignore the will of the people if they don't get their deathcare votes by using a budgetary maneuver to shove this down our throats...

Funny that when its a liberal cause/march in DC its always "easily" hundreds of thousands or a couple million. Meanwhile, the right wing and centrists protests and it gets watered down. No media bias whatsoever, right?

Why are we considered "right wing kooks"?

I want the government to follow the Constitution of the United States. I want a balanced budget. I want the deficit spending to end. WE'RE BANKRUPT!!

I want people to earn what they have and not hold out a hand for free money.

I want less government and more freedom. Yes.... more freedom. You have an illusion of freedom right now. Every damn thing you do involves government permission.

It's not just people with "extreme views" who attended and are pissed at the government. Your average American has woken up and shouted to the government "STOP!!"

Depending upon which news outlet you watch or read, the estimates range from between fifty thousand to upwards of nearly two million attending the protest.

Sure looks like a helluva lot more than 50,000.

If the higher estimates are true then this would be the largest ever single protest in the history of the United States.

Estimated 2 MILLION people was there. More then at Obamas inauguration. And it was a peaceful march too. Im proud to say those people right there are the ones that are gonna help change America and bring it back to its roots.

So let me see if I have this correct:

Liberals protesting government = true patriotism
Conservatives/Moderates protesting goverment = just a bunch of right-wing kooks

Sound about right?

As everyone knows, the G20 summit is coming to Pittsburgh in 2 weeks, and there will be thousands of legitimate loony fringe lefty protesters. I'm willing to bet there will not be a single derogatory word uttered by anyone in the mainstream media if they get out of hand, which has a high probability of happening given recent history.

One of my favorite moments from this weekends event. CNN is doing a live remote. Notice towards the middle they start chanting "GLENN BECK". :chuckle:

Lefty says there were only 60k there...I quote:

I live here, trust me: DC is unable to absorb an influx of even 500k w/o the effect ripplling out. If it was anywhere near even 1M, the entire beltway and subway system would have ground to a complete halt. Even at 500k, things start getting a little slow. Didn't happen. I was on both the beltway and the subway. Traffic looked like a normal weekend. They didn't even bother running the rush hour schedule - trains were on the weekend schedule, and they were no more packed than they are on a weekend afternoon.

Comapre that to Obama's inaug, where between 1.2 and 1.8M are estimated to have come. Trains were on a rush hour schedule for the entire period - and every car looked like rush hour in Japan. Beltway was impassable. Every street (not the sidewalks, but the actual streets themselves) in every sector of DC but for SE was clogged with bodies. Never seen anything like it.

If the higher estimates are true then this would be the largest ever single protest in the history of the United States.2 picks of the same crowd? that doesnt double the total. i would be stretching it if i said it looked to be as much people in the ann arbor stadium for mich. vs. notre dame this weekend. if MY VERY OWN eyeballs are going to be the the judge i would say that is 10X closer to 50,000 than 2,000,000. :mg:

now theres some observed empirical data one couldnt possibly dispute, right?

Estimated 2 MILLION people was there.

yeah... right.

There are a TON of pictures here, and some will be more interesting to some than to others, but I was flabbergasted by the opening aerial shots which depict the enormity of the crowds. The people literally look like ants swarming, and I think it truly gives an accurate depiction of what "millions" really means.

Woah! I NEVER said I thought there were millions there...I simply want to know why when a crowd that CLEARLY numbers several hundred thousand is being marginalized by the Democrats at CNN all the way down to 10-20k?

I go to an outdoor event on several weekends in the summer, and the crowds average 20-25k...I'd say this crowd is at least 10X bigger than that. 2 Million? No way to know, but 20,000? Please...
