I need a big night from SDs defense, like 12 sacks and 6 ints, and 3 tds. Against the Raiders it might happen.

most horrible call ever. this is almost as bad as troy being robbed of int vs. colts.

ground cannot cause fumble. there is no making a "football move once a td is scored. 2 feet down and ass on the ground clearly equals TD.

and i dont even like the raiders (definitely like the chargers more).

im just getting sick of seeing refs fock up perfectly good plays.

No I agree their run defense is horrible. What has happened to Jamal Williams? Is he even playing tonight? The way he has been played last season is an example of why the Steelers are probably reluctant to sign "big snack" to a long-term contract. Those big 3-4 Nts go from being dominate one day to getting dominated the next.

Listening to Steve Young "do color" is like listening to Ben Stein in Farriss Beuller's Day Off - Bueller?, Beuller?

I am sick of this whole "young QB" crap when they talk about Russell. It's his third freaking year. He looks like a damn fourth round rookie who wasn't expecting to ever start a game.

Why? So Michael Bush can be dropped at our line by two LB's? Least we have a second TE that can catch the ball for a few yards.

Why ? so instead of picking a RB in 1st round we might have been able to trade our 1st for a early 2nd and a 3rd and then draft 2 OL players or 1 DL and 1 OL player.

At least Michael Bush doesnt spin on all the carries or doesnt dance in the backfield he goes forward.

I rarely see him losing yds on a carry

Clutch :sofunny: how was the receiver that wide open & on fourth down?

Maybe the Raiderettes were on the Jumbotron and the SD secondary decided that was more interesting than trying to see an Oakland receiver catch a pass.

Please, for the love of all things holy, score a TD, so this game does not go to OT. I'd rather watch the LFL than this. Wait, I'd probably watch the LFL over most anything.

Against a defense that Parker absolutely shredded twice last year. San Diego's run defense sucks.

San Diego's Defense in General sucks. The Steelers had their best offensive outputs of the season last year against the Chargers.

And you are telling me they were all there right? And we had the ability and foresight to get all of them right?

Sure would be nice to say "We should have" 2 years after the decisions are being made.

Raiders and Bills. Bad teams just find a way to lose and choke.

San Diego and New England did not impress me at ALL tonight. Wait until they play good teams that don't choke.

I can't figure why the Raiders would trade Garcia when they still can't be sure what they have in Russell, and the possibility of him getting injured. Garcia is a pretty decent QB. But then again I haven't read any articles about the why's and how's of the trade.

Garcia asked to be released.

i was all for the Mike Bush drafting 2 years ago, I always thought he was a steal for a 3rd round pick.

Mike Bush is 1st round material, IMHO he is better than Mendenhall. That is just my thoughts and I think that a TE like Spaeth can be found anywhere in round 4 to 7.

again im no GM or HC but I always thought that Bush was a good fit for us.

The guy can run,he can block he can catch heck he can even throw the football.

also played some LB in college.

but they decided to go with a guy that Tomlin saw a lot during his season in Minnesota with the Vikings(Spaeth played for the UMinnesota)

I don't want to comment on the game because Raiders are as important to me as a boat filled with holes.
But I just want to ask: did all those complaining 'bout the field at HeinzField see that pathetic Oakland Colisseum???? A baseball field?

Not only that, but it used to be a perfectly good stadium before the Raiders moved in and demanded that 15,000 new seats be built. They ruined it so badly that the Oakland A's are trying to move away. Not to mention most of the new seats on "Mount Davis" are at such a steep angle that you can barely see the field, and you can't see the outfield at all for baseball:

I thought they finally got that monkey off their backs, but......

It was a much better showing than I expected. They may win a game or two this year that no one gave them a chance at if they can keep playing like they did Monday night. Small steps last night to returning to being a good team, but steps none the less.

I agree.

The Raiders defense looked really good. They played a really basic scheme, but it worked well. Seymour was all over last night making plays.

There were times where Russell looked good, and there were times where he looked really bad. They need to get consistency out of him. I thought they got that the last few games of last season, if they can get that soon...the Raiders will surprise some people.

For now...I like Cable as the head coach. I like his philosophy for fixing this football team. I like his philosophy for the defense, line up and just beat the man in front of you, nothing fancy...smash mouth.

If he doesn't get charged (or fired) for knocking out his assistant, I think he can be successful. It would help if Al Davis stopped meddling.

Well i like what the Raiders showed. If Jamarcus can not throw picks and be sorta accurate he can wins games this season.
There OL is pretty strong up front giving room for all the running backs they have.
Defense is there weak point IMO opinion, Got torn up on the final drive.

Defense may be the weak point still, and sometime during the year, but it sure wasn't last night. Yeah, they lost it on the final drive, but they played outstanding ball most of the night. We haven't been able to stop the run for 6 years... longer really. Last night was Christmas to see them shut the run down. Hopefully, it will continue.

The Raiders might be the best of the worst. They can compete with the Lions, Chiefs, Bucs, Rams, Bungles, Browns, Bills, etc for the first draft pick bowl. Nothing drastic is changing. They most likely shot their wad already.

I agree, but I don't want Garcia playing... not that it matters now. I'm not concerened with winning right now with a one year guy... two at best, for the sake of winning. I want this team to be progressing with the guy that will be here for the long haul. Winning now isn't, or shouldn't be the goal. Becoming a good team again, and sustaining it, is.

I was actually envious of the run-game that the Raiders were mounting. It was rather impressive. The push that their line was getting, and the pass protection they were giving JR were of the levels that I haven't seen our line play at in quite some time......
