Larry Foote knows that deep in his heart, he's always going to be a Steeler. :tt02:

"But it's just the experience. I know the game. I don't like saying I'm smart, but people call me a smart football. I know the defense and stuff..."

Someone please tell me that's a typo.

I was going to say, his leaving was his fault. He didn't want to become a backup so he begged to be let go. Of course he can't hate us for his own problems.

He has no right to be mad. He's the one who pushed the issue to leave. Had he wanted to stay, he would still be here.

Wait wasn't he the one who wanted to leave Pittsburgh because his roll was declining?

Why is he pissed? He wanted to leave because he didn't want to end up in a backup role. He asked for his release, and he got his wish.

But then again, if I went from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Detroit Lions, I would be pissed off too!

I bet he was a wishing he was on the field a playing with the Steelers instead of waiting to play on Sunday for the Lions.

At least Lefty got more $ to be abused in Tampa. Maybe by week 10 he will wish he took the vet minimum to remain. I know by the end of the regular season he wishes he was dressed in Black and Gold in the playoffs.

If I went from winning to a proven loser with a unknown future. I'd be pretty angry too.

But still, no one pushed Larry out of here. He needs to shut up.

Yeah, he went there as a free agent, if I remember right.

I honestly don't know why we didn't at least trade him for a fifth-round pick or something, though. Maybe Detroit wouldn't take his contract either.

Agreed. I'm actually sorry that he feels that way. I hope he lets it go.

We tried, he was on the block and nobody offered. They knew if we didn't get an offer he would be released. Nobody is trading for a guy who will get released in the end.

Our 3 other linebackers carried him for years...He is an AVERAGE linebaker at best
