Watched the game with my Bengal friends and by halftime we were talking about all the crap the Bengals have to fix to get better. Next thing you know we are inching back into the game. It is as if the Steelers thought the game was over. They played too conservative to win that game in the second half.

There it is ...... seen thru the eyes of another with no rose colored glasses. ^^^^ isn the only one that saw it. Im sure millions saw it but theres a select few in here that wanna pin this on the defense and sure they deserve some but we couldve easily been up 35 to 9 goin into the fourth. 300 yards in 3 quarters and lay an egg in the fourth ?

Playcalling folks--Jeff saw it, I seen it, millions of others saw it. Keep your shades on, plug your ears if you want.

And I still will NOT pin the entire blame for this loss on the offense. Call it whatever the hell you want, rose-colored glasses, whatever. I WILL NOT give the defense a free pass in this game like you seem to want to.

The Steelers didn't finish, again. Missed field goal, dropped touchdown, and settling for field goals in the redzone all contributed to this loss.

Can't really blame the defence (183 passing for Palmer and 76 rushing for Benson), although the game winning drive by the Bengals leaves a lasting impression.

Hopefully we can right the ship and make it into the playoffs. Then, as we know, anything can happen.

How can you NOT blame the defense? Did the offense give up TDs in 2 straight possessions to end the game? I don't think so!

Santonio Holmes ran the wrong route on that INT return TD.

The coaches weren't cussing Ben Roethlisberger out after that one. They were cussing out Holmes. That ought to tell you everything you need to know about that play.

Yet there are at least 2 cut Limas threads. The fans have become delusional at best around here. We win as a team and lose as a team, it's everyone's fault! Period.

I don't recall the OP mentioning the playcalling at all. Speaking of glasses - I think you need a pair as you obviously didn't watch the same game I did.

Bottom line in this game is this. Our D gave up 156 yards and 2 TD's in the 4th quarter. 1 + 1 = 2 or in this case 9 + 14 = 23. End of story.

Did the offence leaves at least 10 points on the field? Either way this was a team effort loss, every phase of the game chipped in.

Baby steps...starting with a win next week against the Chargers. That will calm the collective nerves.

I wouldn't blame any ONE part of the team on this loss. We played very conservatively on BOTH sides of the ball in the 4th quarter. In the first half the offense left points on the field, but the defense did its job. We still had chances to put the game away in the third and didn't take advantage of the opportunities. We played to not lose, thereby assuring that we would.

The OP mentioned playing conservative-- and in MOST cases this is attributed to offensive playcalling IS IT NOT ?

Tell me HG how successful was this Bengals D in shutting down or at least slowing down our passing attack at any point in this game ? Tell me exactly where they had success shutting it down.... I do recall them making adjustments in at least shooting the gaps to stop the run as the same alleys Parker had to run thru in the 1st half werent there in the 2nd. So then if thats the case, why the hell does Arians call run, run, pass in successive series in the 4th quarter with Cincy swinging momentum ? Cincy had no answer for Mike Wallace. They had no answer for Hines or Heath. We even had success throwing to Parker which is rare for this unit so why do we go away from that which we knew was working and the Cincy D had no answers for ? Thats precisely why i say and many others echo the sentiment that ARIANS STINKS!!!

Now to the D..our defense has bailed this offense out week after week many times. They had issues gettin stops.....and ive said as much. So Xterminator im not givin them a pass (like yall want to grant Arians). Problem is, this defense is missing its perennial all pro safety which plays are role in how effective some exotic packages can be called/executed (LeBeau). What is the offenses (Arians) excuse ? Hes not missing personnel. He had the formula for success today....he capped it. End of story.

So yeah..you and i didnt watch the same game.

Where is Buddy Ryan when you need an OC knocked out.............
