My Steelers are in trouble. They lost to the Bungles! I do NOT want to see that happen again this season (or ever!).

So what can I do about it???

I told my wife... and we just spent $1800.00 to go to the next Cinci game and SCREAM OUR HEADS OFF......... Spent extra money to get into the Club Seating so that idiot "Cornhole Classic" Carson Palmer can hear us a bit more, maybe cause an offsides (probably not, but can be part of the crowd noise that might do it).

NO LOSE MUST WIN!!!

methinks the "simple fan" doesnt have $1800 to shell out for a single game.

:hunch: congrats though.

I'm going to the game on October 18, and I paid a hell of a lot less than $1800 to go see it.

Sorry, I love the Steelers and all, but there's no way in hell I'm throwing down that kind of scratch to see just one game, even if I had it to spend. That's almost as much as HTG and I spend on our Pens' season tickets.

Don't mean to rain on your parade, man. Just telling it like it is. You have fun and yell until your voice gives out!

Well, you all have to remember that for me, that has to include hotels for 4 days, food, airline flight (using miles) and tickets off the internet.

This ends up being our vacation for the year.

Nice choice Preacher. If I were choosing just 1 game to attend, at this point I would choose the Bengals game as well.

That seems to be the formula with Carson. If we get relentless pressure on him to the point of sacks, knockdowns, hurries, etc it seems to stick in his mind to where he even rushes throws later in the game when less pressure is applied. Most quarterbacks are of course like this but Carson's effectiveness = nice pocket.

And please treat any Bengals fan in the stands like total dogshit..that's what they do to us in their stadium. We don't call Paul Brown Stadium "The Litterbox" for nothing at our house.

Do unto others as they do to us, the good book says. :chuckle:

I know, I know....that's not the Steelerway. I'm still traumatized form Sunday's trip into the bowels of hell.

I dropped 500 on 2 tickets to travel to Detroit and watch what I thought was going to be an easy win. But I have to admit I am not as confident that it will be one.

I will be SUPER pissed if they lose to the Liedowns!

Preacher...just arrange to have a Gospel Meeting on the same weekend where the Steelers are playing. That way, lodging, food, etc is paid for :chuckle:

Up until 2004 when I saw the Steelers play at Texas Stadium, I had seen the Steelers play in person 6 times and they had lost every single time.

Ah, OK - I thought it was just for the tickets. How much did you pay for the tickets, if I may ask?

If you dropped 500 on 2 tickets to any Lions game, they better be club level with food included. Otherwise, you got ripped off.

And they will not lose that game. I'm 150% sure of it.

325 plus fees... each for two tickets total.

but we got club seats, Row A section 209. Figured that was a pretty good.

____________

The real kicker to all this? We had enough airline miles to fly first class there and back for a grand total of $25 !!!!!

The expensive item is the hotel. We always stay in the Springhill suites Marriot North. That way, we can walk to the game... walk to Bettis', and take the shuttle to the strip and to Union square.

That's actually not bad for 2 club seats, especially in Row A. And yeah, the hotel is the kicker - I think the Springhill Suites there starts at $150 a night and I'm sure it's more for game weekends. BTW, they are in the process of building another hotel down the road from there, right across the street from PNC Park's home plate entrance. It's supposed to be a Hyatt, which means big bucks.

Yeah, it was the only two at that price...which actually makes me wonder if they have an obstructed view. But oh well.

We'll also be eating most of our meals in the strip. For the price, its hard not too.

and I WISH it were 150 a night.

It is averaging, BEFORE all the taxes, 260 a night.

Wife and I were thinking about getting other hotels outside of downtown. But after renting a car to drive around, paying gas, etc., well, it would cost about the same. We found another hotel closer that also has a shuttle service, but the fact of the matter is, we know this hotel, really like it, and it is a very nice hotel. SO we just said screw it and got rooms there.

Well, I recently bought a house and my funds are a bit short, but for my part, I did buy a ticket to the Monday night game here in Denver in November:

Please pardon the Broncos graphic - bought it from a Broncos season ticket holder.

I'll be right behind the Steelers sideline - if I see Clark anywhere, I will personally escort him to DIA and get him on a flight outta town.

Wait...that hotel is $260 a night??? Are you serious??? That has to be some kind of game rate - they can't realistically expect to get that much in an average week with nothing going on.

This is why I love living only 10 minutes outside of Pittsburgh. Only have to pay for the ticket and food is about it, but congrats on going to the game I hope to hear you loud and proud as the Steelers reak havoc on these sorry jungle cats!
