According to Ed Bouchette's Chat Script on

www.postgazette.com/steelers

For a back whose entire game is his speed, this will hurt.

Looks like Mendenhall will get more touches this week.

Make the best of it Mendenhall!

Sounds simple but it's not. Ended Lamberts career.

FWP = Turf Toe
Summers = "mysterious back injury" - (fear of being cut).
Sweed = bench ass as a result of butter fingers.

WTF?

I seem to remember that turf toe stopped Franco Harris from playing in 1976 playoff game. It's a serious injury for a back.

I had turf toe in high school my junior year. Let me tell you, it hurts like hell. Just pushing off with it would bring tears to my eyes.

Willie Parker is expected to miss practice time this week with a case of turf toe.

The Steelers haven't expressed concern about his availability for this weekend, but it's definitely a situation to monitor.

LaDainian Tomlinson and Darren McFadden struggled mightily with a more serious version of the injury last season.

Parker is becoming very fragile. Not someone you would invest millions in.

For FWP not having a lot of miles in the college arena, he sure is getting flat tires alot in the pros. Maybe he's just not built for the feature back role.

Well this sucks. Just when Willie was starting to get his groove on. Hopefully, he'll bounce back fine and dandy and I'm hoping to see Mendenhall produce so I don't have to read what a bust he is around here anymore.

I got something like that back in the day while wrestling, it shortened my participation really quick. I swam afterthat.

You know. I have been an avid fan of Willie.

But it just seems that he is getting injured time and time again now. Broken leg, Sprained knee, pulled hamstring, turf toe, shoulder injury... all between December of 2007 and September of 2009.

Essentially under a season and a half.

This year, we ride willie out, then say goodbye. There's not going to be a contract for him (except for the famous vet minimum).

So IMO, its now time to begin the Mendy experiment in earnest. Maybe we can extend Willie's career by making him the number 2. I would love nothing else. But this last injury has just about sealed it for me.

Never the less... heal fast Willie. We still need you-- even if it is sitting behind Mendy (if he gets his head screwed on straight and mentally shows up this week!).

Mendenhall could have 150 yards rushing with 3 TD's and we would blow out the Charger and we would still find the bashers crying he should have had 300 yards and 4 TD's! :wink02:

I'd be happy if Moore started producing. I have a ton of players on bye this week in my FFL and may have to play him....

Actually, as of 3 games into the year, Willie was the best producer when given the opportunities.

What was really wierd, was that EVERYONE looked slow last game. Not just our RB's, not just our team, EVERYONE from both teams.

I am wondering if the camera height at the stadium had anything to do with it? It just didn't look right. Did anyone else notice that?

I didnt think everybody looked slow. I thought Parker looked fast as he headed left up the sidelines for that long run early in the game. I think just about every back was patiently looking for a hole, but few were there in the run game.

I would love to see the Steelers run heavy on a defense that doesnt have Olshansky or Williams, but think we will see more of the same spread formation quick passing like we did in the first 3 games.

It just looked wierd to me. The receivers, everyone. Then, I think they changed camera's or something and it looked different.

I don't know. Must have been perspective.

Tomlin wanted to run the wheels off of Willie, looks like it worked.

There is no excuse to not play Mendenhall now. Last time he got this opportunity, Ray Ray took out his shoulder.

If he's a bust, at least give him an opportunity to prove it.

I certainly don't want tinkerbell Rashard Mendenhall running the ball. Could we please, PLEASE bring in Issac Redzone Redman?
