I just heard that Dick LeBeau's mother passed away on Wednesday morning. I haven't found a link yet but I believe that the information is credible.

Sorry to hear this. It says one thing for Lebeau's family though. They must be long lived. We may have him at coach for quite a few more years.

I too, just said a prayer for him . . .

but then I had another thought in the back of my head. "His MOTHER JUST passed away?

With all due respect to the situation Coach finds himself in now, you all DO know what this means don't you? We got LeBeau for probably another 10-15 years!

It also means that with or without LeBeau on the sideline this Sunday night, his defensive players will be playing their A$$ES off for him.

Hopefully that is enough to overcome the obvious handicap of not having him on the sidelines....maybe there is a reason why our defense has looked flat this season. Our D coordinator may have had other more pressing matters on his mind.

Having just gone through a heart-attack ordeal with my mother this last 3 weeks, I can definitely sympathize with where he must be mentally....

This also had me thinking...If coach is in his 70's, how old was his mother 90-100?

Sounds like he has a great bloodline for longevity. Wish him the best, no matter what his decision.

I was thinking the same thing.

Anyway, thoughts and prayers to LeBeau and his family.

Obviously I feel for LeBeau and his family.....HOWEVER, didn't I read here that it's all Dick's fault? That he's lost his edge? Doesn't know what he's doing anymore? Is putting the wrong players on the field?

Anyone who said that has lost their mind completely.

Perhaps he has been preoccupied with other things, but a few games doesn't mean it's time for him to hang it up.

My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. Hopefully the D comes out hungry Sunday in his honor...

I remember last year seeing an interview with Dad Lebeau and he was talking about how healthly his mother was and that she still watched Steelers football.

The interview was awesome, I'll try to find it.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Lebeau family. <3

I know both of his parents are like in their 90's. Looks like Coach Dad has good genes. I hope she lived a long prosperous life, god bless her heart for raising a great kid.

Beulah was 96 years young when she passed away in her sleep on Wednesday morning.

Dad Lebeau called his mother EVERY day, she still lived in London, Ohio.

I can't find the interview, but I did read a story as I was looking for it that he still read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas to his mother.

Prayers with LeBeau's family. If he needs Sunday as a mental day, then fine. I'm sure they'll stand tall.

You know, we read all too often of good people being taken way too early, so its nice to see real, loving mothers living a full and fruitful life. Lebeau is one of a kind and one of footballs true unsung heroes.
