Mendenhall has a sensational game tonight, any chance he takes over as starter?

I think, IF HE HAS A GREAT GAME, is they just get him more involved.

I am really excited to see what Mendy can do when he is the feature back.

I will be impressed if he picks up the blitz and doesn't fumble.

I think if Mendenhall is productive this gm and next they will continue to get him involved since Willie always seems to get hurt plus this is his last yr under contract and I think they would rather use Mendenhall then resign Willie

I have a hard time believing that Parker will be back next week eiher with this injury.

Mendenhall will certainly get his shot to see what he can do.

I'm hoping for a Wally Pipp moment.

Don't turf toes take a while to heal? I know Deion Sanders said they are very painful.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't L.T. have turf toe last season? It killed his entire season.

Hes having a great game so far, and he did pick up the blitz, he pancaked the hell out of some LB trying to blitz.

yes he did, I was pumped. I love the way he just goes back to the huddle after great runs and plays. No show boating. I couldn't be happier with his play.

He scares me the way he carries the ball, he doesn't protect it right. I hope he doesn't fumble in the 2nd half. and I don't think Tomlin will replace parker after 1 (so far) good start.

Parkers toe may be an issue for a couple of weeks. Mendy we get plenty of carries.

I agree he needs to protect the rock a tad better, but if he carries the load ALL 4th QTR without a fumble and grinds out the super tough yards, he deserves a lot more carries than 3 a game...

..... seems-like Mendenhall 'received' the message Coach Tomlin was tryin' to send him LOUD-N-CLEAR:
great-job tonight!

I wouldn't mind seeing more of this effort in future outings.

That's one more good game than Parker's had this season.

Or the last two seasons, for that matter.

I've ripped on Mendy a few times for appearing like a tentative wuss.

I gotta say he looked tough, aggressive & decisive last night.

...and Galax, I promise I will stop snickering every time I see your Mendy Sig after reading your posts.

Turf toe is extremely painful...this is essentially what ended Jack Lambert's career.

Count me amongst those that were impressed. Yes, it was just one game, against a team that we have been able to run on the last three times we played them. But if Mendenhall continues to impress the job will be his. The writing is on the wall. Running Backs have very short shelf lives in the NFL. Just look at Tomlinson. He looks like a shell of his former self. I know both he and Parker are coming off injury filled seasons, but thats how it starts. No offense to Fast Willie, I will be forever grateful for his contribution to the Steelers, but he may be out of the league in another two or three years.

Count me among the impressed ones, it was great to see Steelertype of running game again, finally moving the ball consistently throughout an entire game.:applaudit::applaudit::applaudit::applaudit:

I was impressed.... In fact, I hope the Steelers start using Mendenhall more and start using Parker less.:tt04:

Now FWP said he wants to be back next week against Lions.Hopefully it will be only as Mendy's backup because Mendy deserves at least another starting game
