View Full Version : My thoughts on this game...A Win that we needed!

Regardless of what happened in the 4th QTR, I am going to sleep a very happy fan tonight.

I thought Arians called a great game tonight! There is absolutely no blame to throw at him tonight.

Carry Davis may have given the Steelers a reason not to keep Frank the Tank. I don't know what Frank offers the team that Carry doesn't.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have been very pleased with the O'line this year. Granted, we need to get the "False Start #74" out of our playbook, but overall...they have been really good this year.

I like what I saw tonight, but this defense needs to learn to play 60 minutes of football. We would be 4-0 if we did a better job at that. Covering the TE has always been the achilles heel of this defense. Granted, Gates is a load, but we need to do better on defense. Getting Troy back next week will help tremendously....obviously.

This was the Rashard Mendenhall that I envisioned when we drafted him. Now, I want to see more of him and what he can do on the field. I saw runs tonight that he made that I haven't seen Willie make in a while.

For the first half of football, that was the most focused that I have ever seen the team. No one was smiling. Everyone looked pissed off and determined. We played like it too.

Logan has made me nervous this year on returns. Granted, I still feel that forward momentum was stopped tonight, but his bang for his buck is beginning to make me wonder if it is worth keeping him over another player.

If we keep McDonald active on game days, this is the strongest 1-4 of our WR's that I can remember since the 1995 group. I honestly don't want to think about Hines Ward retiring.

Time to begin a winning streak. Go into the Bye at 5-2.

We may have to much of our D designed around Troy. The blitzes were a second late and the middle was wide open (obviously). It scares me that one player has that much impact on the Defensive schemes. If Troy's healthy, i believe were 4-0. We don't buckle to the catchup passing mode.

Logan is well worth his roster spot!

how do we know that ? we havent try Wallace just yet.

Yeah he is effective in punt returns but it's been 2 fumbles that we've lost(1 that doesnt matter cause the game was lost anyway) but I still wonder if we dont use him offensively if it's worth a roster spot.

He does have tremendous abilities but I think he needs to give us more than just that to earn a roster spot.

that is just my thoughts

otherwise what a game by the OL...yeah they were awesome but also want to give credit to Mendenhall for finding the holes.Easy to say they gave him the holes but the RB has to find it.

my 3 stars of the game

1-Kemo
2-Mendenhall
3-Big Ben

Right on! And IMO Arians took it to another level last night.

The whole offense clicked last night (players & coach). Whatever magic pill was involved, I hope they keep taking it.

It was nice to see the offense carry the load and bail out the defense for a change.

We have moved the ball pretty well the entire season so far, the most encouraging thing form last night was CASHING IN with touchdowns instead of FG attempts!

Amazing what this game will do for our confidence. Not only that, they just said on NFL Live that the Steelers are "The most complete team in the AFC." After seeing last night, you would think that's nice, but we do need to work on these fourth quarter issues, my poor heart.. LOL
