The Steelers have re-signed veteran defensive end Nick Eason and released rookie running back Isaac Redman.

Redman will likely be re-signed to the practice squad.

The Steelers had signed Redman from their practice squad last Saturday because of depth concerns at running back. He dressed but played sparingly in the Steelers' 38-28 win over the San Diego Chargers Sunday night.

Eason signed with the Steelers in 2007 and had 13 tackles and 1.5 sacks last season.

He had been inactive for the Steelers' first three games this season.

Good. I still say Redzone Redman is a myth. Mendy is for real as I have been saying all along. Redman is a training camp wonder. That's all. We should see Mendy racking up some big yardage the next couple of weeks against the two worst teams in the league.

Well said I have been behind Mendenhall since we drafted him. I think that was a turnning point for him last sunday. I know he won't do it every game but he looked really good.:tt04:

Well, sadly, that's it then...we will now finish 2-14.

I think we can't say that Redman is proven or unproven as a regular season player because we have not played him to say conclusively until he has had his chance.... I think, based on what I "do " know about him, is that he has much more potential than not.....

So if they intend to re-sign redman to the practice squad, who's the odd on favorite to be cut from there?

Practice Squad
80 Brock, Kevin TE 6-5 255 4/9/86 R Rutgers
19 Grisham, Tyler WR_ 5-11 180 6/11/87 R Clemson
37 Harris, Tuff S 6-0 198 1/23/83 3 Montana
69 McLendon, Steve DT 6-4 280 1/3/86 R Troy
61 Shipley, A.Q. C 6-0 298 5/22/86 R Penn State
28 Vincent, Justin RB 5-10 219 1/25/83 1 Louisiana State
95 Woods, Donovan ROLB 6-2 230 7/27/85 2 Oklahoma State

My money would be on Vincent.

I find it kinda funny that with all the FS/SS injuries that Tuff is still on the PS. His digestion of the playbook must be holding him back. :noidea:

Redman would be the 8th. No need for cuts.

****UPDATE****

Running back Isaac Redman was re-signed to the practice squad. Redman was added to the active roster on Saturday with Parker out of the lineup and Nick Eason was released. Eason was re-signed on Monday, and Redman let go from the active roster.

Now where's Ra'shon Harris?

Now where's Ra'shon Harris?

With the Panthers PS. He turned down a chance to come back to Pittsburgh to stick with Carolina.

People, understand this.

When they send Redman to the "Practice Squad", they are really sending him to a Phat Farm where they feed him Cornbread laced with legal steroids and 100% Angus Beef. He then lifts weights the rest of the day.

They thought he was ready but they want to get him to 270 pounds of solid beef and muscle.

Don't worry folks, Bettis, I mean Redman will return by the end of the season.

So with Parker possibly out again this week, the musical chairs could start again.

If Parker continues to stay away from practice, there is nothing to stop the Steelers from again making the Isaac Redman-Nick Eason switch to give them another healthy running back Sunday, just in case.
