Hey Steelboy - I asked you nicely once to please stop with the all CAPS and I'm not going to ask again. I've edited your most recent threads and the next one in ALL CAPS will be deleted - sorry, but dems the rules.

Oh, sorry about that. I didn't see where you said that but once again my apologies.

I voted for the defense finishing the game STRONG, as that has been our achilles heel the past 3 games. Can't lay back when the O has provided a huge lead - got to play 60 minutes of football, not 45. Our O has played extremely well since the start of the season. Time for our D to step up their game and get back to playing their hard, physical game.

we cant get complacent, and we need to finish on offense and defense, troy will help tremendously, especially against calvin johnson

I vote for an offensive passing attack. Turn Roethlisberger loose once again. :tt04:

I think we need to get pressure on the quarterback and not give him time to throw.

I am happy with any victory, but this might be the type of game where a blowout would be good for some confidence

If that happens, the Offensive line should be blamed

My 'OTHER' option is that it is a combination of all the choices.

It does no good to have a balanced offensive attack if our defense doesn't close out the game.

It doesn't matter if the defense closes out the game if our offense doesn't perform.

If Stafford plays and doesn't get pressured, then we've seen that he can make throws. If Culpepper plays and doesn't get pressured, then we've seen that he can only make plays occassionally. Either way, we've got to get to the QB early and often for 60 minutes.

And none of it will matter if our players become complacent and do not take the lions seriously.

I'd like to see a shut-out by the defense and a high scoring offensive performance.

I wish I could've chosen all of the above.:wink02: But I guess I'll choose a well balanced attack on offense.

The Steelers will go into Detroit and WIN period, no if, ands, or buts about it. We will be 3-2 after this game, bank on it!

The Steelers don't take the Lions too lightly. They're playing better football and if the Steelers take them lightly, they just might get bit.

The most important thing in this game is for our LB's to show up and put some much needed pressure on the QB. Calvin Johnson could have a huge game vs us if we do not get pressure on the QB. Kevin Smith is a nice reciever out of the backfield as well, I dont know how good the Lions are at screen passes but they would most likely work well against our defense as aggressive as we are. It would help if Troy is healthy enough to play also, but if we dont get some pressure on the QB it isnt gonna matter.

I voted to finish the game strong on D. The 4th quarter is killing us the past few weeks. We've got to play all 4 qtrs. I guess that could fall under not getting complacent too though.

If they don't take this game for granted and show up and play they should win.

We should see the same amount of success on offense, but there's no way Detroit's offense will be as capable of scoring like SD's. While I would ultimately be happy with a win no matter how it is earned, I will be disappointed if it isn't a blowout like the Chargers or Bengals game should have been.

I am also looking forward to a good day for Logan and the special teams, the Lions were terrible in their kick coverage against the Bears, giving up 274 total yards in returns as well as a TD.

Detroit QB's are extremely inaccurate ...

If we don't come out of this game with a few picks ... :banging:

Just sayin' ...

I believe we win this game the way you win every game. You Punish the other team's QB for 60 minutes.

Hit him in the mouth, help him up, hit him in the guts, help him up, hit him in his back, help him up and so on for 60 minutes.

Make him bleed and beg for mercy. If we do that, we win.

I worry about every game. No matter who the opponent. Complacency could be the big enemy here. All those who say we'll win by just showing our faces at the game will be the ones hardest hit by a loss. As long as the team isn't thinking that way though, that's cool. We gotta treat them like we're behind late in the superbowl for all 60 minutes and we should be ok.

The Steelers will win Sunday if the Earth stays on it's axis and we don't spin off it and into the sun. That's about the only way I see us losing, and, really, if something that catastrophic happens, don't we really ALL lose?

I agree too but we also need a strong running game to burn up the clock. We can't afford to take these guys lightly either. Jump out with an early lead. Keep up the pressure on defense (all 60 minutes) and run the ball. Did I mention we need to run the ball?:chuckle:
