That was a perfectly timed coverage by the defender...even the announcer said that....no matter who the WR was there its the SAME result!

That one was right in the breadbasket for a sure 6. That kid probably makes that catch 8 out of 10 times. Let's go ahead and keep him. :tt02::helmet::tt:

Let's keep Sweed too. If we cut him loose he'd torment us forever in NE. :chuckle:

Freekin Vrabel gets his, what, 900th TD today in KC.

Only six flags for SWEED , every time he misses a catch , i will deduct one flag . If he catches the ball , i can add one back .

Only 6 towels left for Sweed . He could free up some cap room if we just give up on him . He has 6 towels left , then he is out of my favor .

McDonald has sure hands, I don't know why you can't cut your losses.

Ben chose the perfect time to throw to him (or behind him rather) in tight coverage on a crucial 3rd down.

We need to just throw some easy checkdown type plays to the guy to build his confidence rather than throw him in the deep end with all these super high pressure plays.

I agree. That was a difficult catch.

I didn't see the throw. The game wasn't on here. Watched part of it on JTV until some MORON posted the link/password and they shut it down. You know who you are and you are a douchebag!!!!!

Yeah no big deal for Sweed, he still needs to get more chances to show what he can do.

Finally a few people not thinking like idiots...the pass was kinda behind him and it was defended quite well also. And when a guy has only been thrown to once in this game and only 2 other times the whole season...you cannot write them off.

The kid gets open and goes to the right place most of the time...thats over half the battle. He just may take longer to develop than we'd like him to, but if he does....look out, wallace and santonio and SWEED oh my! Don't forget Mendenhall and Spaeth and Big Earl!

yup I wonder how these people would fare if they had millions of people waiting them to fail in their every day work.

We don't need to cut Sweed. But the kid is on a negative spiral, and he needs some quiet time to regain his confidence and his concentration. I think it would be wise to let him inactive for some weeks, let him know that: that could allow him to practice without immediate pressure.
There's no need to be more radical. WR position isn't a concern, with Ward, Holmes, Wallace, McDonald, not to mention the best TE in the NFL. We can give some time to a young kid who has potential but is for now overhelmed by NFL pressure.

I agree. Once Troy comes back we can get way ahead of the other team and not have to worry about the defense. We can use that to give Sweeeeeeeeeeed some chances.

I certainly hope they give him more of a chance than that slant pass today.

Seems like after that drop they didn't throw anymore to him it was like he disapeard from the team.:noidea:

Exactly! When he dropped the ball i screamed "Can we finally go back to McDonald as the #4 now". McDonald can get the job done, Sweed we are unsure about and thus far in his career HASNT gotten the job done. Maybe Sweed will get another chance if someone gets injured, but until that time common sense says to go with the guy that will make the plays and hangs onto the ball.

Sweed has the talent to be a great receiver in the league. He just needs a confidence game.

I still think he is gonna pan out and be part of a good young group of guys as Steeler WR's.

You don't give up on Sweed yet, as long as he still has a good attitude during practice and is continuing to work, give him time.

Some people saying Sweed is a bust were probably the same ones calling for the Steelers to trade or cut Mendenhall two weeks ago.:coffee:

Idk who we could get for him

I dont think we can even trade him unless a team wants to take him on nothing but potential....

Its a pretty safe post for Lombardi. If nobody trades for Sweed, then he is right.....if somebody does, then he was right too.

I doubt that it happens, but Favre said he was retiring too.
