Four Steelers (Ward, Holmes, Wallace, and Miller) Rank within the top 40 for receiving yardage in the entire league right now. Our #4 passing option has more yardage than some teams #1 option.

It's amazing what a franchise QB will do for ya!

ben has 30 games with a triple digit passer rating in less than 6 years (yesterday his rating was 123.)

terry bradshaw had 31 such games in his 14 year career.

to be fair, Swann & Stallworth were allowed to be mugged. Ward & Holmes can run untouched anywhere they want.

Still an amazing statistic.

didn't say it wasn't...I was commenting on the Bradshaw to Ben comparison.

I'd be interested in how many pick-6's Bradshaw threw in comparison to Ben ... :chuckle:

At Ben's rate he's gonna break the all-time NFL pick-6 record ...

ben throws too many picks, it seems like he has to throw one per game, and he actually threw 2 yesterday one got called back for the roughing the passer, he just makes stupid throws sometimes, dont get me wrong im really happy to have a great qb, but he just makes such stupid throws sometimes, u dont see brady, manning, or brees doing that and bens on their level

Um, Golden Boy threw a pick-6 against Buffalo and he's lost the ball on 2 strip sacks so far this season, including one returned for a TD against the Ravens and another one at a critical juncture of the game yesterday. Just because the media fellates him nonstop doesn't make him perfect. Also, through 5 games, Manning has one less pick. I'm sick of this sort of criticism of Ben just because he isn't blown by the media constantly.

I overheard the most asinine statement during the Chargers game last week.:

"Roethlisberger is like the Tim Tebow of professional football. Big, fat, and untalented".

I don't think I've come closer to starting a bar fight than at that moment. Come to find out, the guy is a bengals fan. Shocker.

You should have told him that the Bengals are the Bengals of professional football.

Happy about Ben's stats. I'll never question his ability to be an elite QB in the NFL. I just hope we can still run it if we have to (still nervous thinking about the 2002? season when we threw it so much).

Also, wanted to give props to this post as it is effing hysterical!!!

Hines abuses secondaries. And linebackers.

It'd be fun to see Hines and Atkinson (in a fairy world where they were the same age) go at (go all UFC on) each other. Who would win that? I'm thinking Hines would beat him up and take his lunch money.

A little perspective:
QB stats 2009 COMP % TD INT SACKS Lost FUM Rating
Peyton Manning 73.5 / 12 / 4 / 2 / 0 / 114.1
Tom Brady 61.4 / 6 / 2 / 5 / 2 / 85.9
Drew Brees 67.4 / 9 / 2 / 4 / 3 / 108.4
Ben Roethlisberger 73.8 / 8 / 5 / 13 / 0 / 102.6

He's right up there with the best of 'em, and he takes a lot more punishment than they do. He takes a lot of sacks, but that's why his completion % is so high.

Since when has Brady been the best of em ?

Even then he had to be bailed out by the kicker. :chuckle:
