Ok, Here's how it works. The winner gets a rep point from each participant in the thread. You have to be the closest to the actual firing date (and time) of Jim Zorn getting fired from the Skins. The time of his firing will be the time when Dan Snyder officially lets him go.

Any takers???

I will go first:

Zorn is out of a job by Monday morning at 10 AM.

I don't know when he'll be gone, but Snyder wants first dibs on the deep pool of coaches, so Zorn's time is very limited.

I'm thinking the loss will do him in. Maybe tomorrow, maybe 2 weeks, but i agree he is history

Snyder needs to fire himself and get a competent GM. He can turnover HCs as often as he wants, but that team is going to remain stuck in neutral due to his dipshit personnel moves. Once again, $100 mil for a DT?

Like the Pirates, it all starts at the top.

Until Snyder changes his ways or is put out of office, Washington will be nothing more than Mediocre. Danny Boy is lucky he's in a league with parity and revenue sharing.

2 seconds after he gets Cowhers signature on the dotted line.

As long as Billionaire Geek Boy is calling all the shots in the FO in regards to personnel, Cowher won't right that ship either.

Prediction: D.C. is Lord Favre's next stop on his now-annual retirement/unretirement/retirement/unretirement tour. For $70 million+ guaranteed.

Dont be so sure he lasts. It may be that Snyder is such a pain that he is having trouble getting people to even consider it.

Looks like Shanny already turned him down - for now, at least....

Sources: Shanahan Turned Down Redskins

SportingNews

Sources confirmed for FanHouse that the Washington Redskins recently tried to hire former Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan but were turned down.

However, Shanahan might reconsider joining the Redskins in the offseason. In the meantime, Redskins coach Jim Zorn was stripped of play-calling duties after a 14-6 home loss to the previously winless Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Recently-hired consultant Sherman Lewis will be calling the plays for Washington next Monday when they face the Philadelphia Eagles.

"Shanahan told the franchise there was little he could do in the middle of the season for them and that changing coaches during the season in the NFL rarely works,'' a Redskins management source told FanHouse. "Several people that Dan Snyder trusts have suggested, if he makes a move, he should turn it over to secondary coach Jerry Gray. That could still happen.

Also Tuesday morning, the NFL Network reports that quarterback Jason Campbell will remain the Redskins' starting quarterback—at least for now.

The Redskins currently sit at 2-4 and in last place in the NFC East, with losses to Detroit, Carolina and Kansas City—teams that have four total wins combined.

Shanahan has a career regular season record of 138-90-0 and a postseason record of 8-5. He led the Broncos to back-to-back Super Bowl victories in the 1997 and 1998 seasons.

He was fired December 30, 2008 after the Broncos failed to make the playoffs.
