Not a troll...just here with a few questions.

I'm coming to Pittsburgh for the 1st time this Sunday. I've been to the old Vet for Vikes Eagles games twice. Is the atmosphere anything like Eagle fans? (Not trying to insult lol). I'm only asking because I'm bringing one of my kids and don't feel liked getting mutha fuked over a football game. Also what's a good place to stay at?

I respect the Steelers history. I remember when I was young watching them beat up on Tarkenton all game long in the superbowl...and they had a good team that year.

Thanks

Well, I haven't lived in the Burgh in a while but I can tell you that most fans of visiting teams (that I know of) usually have good things to say about Steelers fans. The only people I know who ever have anything negative to say are Ravens fans, but those guys are delusional (I swear, they think the Ravens won every game they've ever played... glad to see your Vikes beat 'em today!).

Enjoy the game next week... I hope we beat you guys of course, but that's mostly because the Vikings are awesome this year and if we can beat them, then I think we've got a real shot at Lombardi #7.

Lombardi # 7? That's hard to believe. All the years in the league and we still can't nab 1. Must be a good feeling.

Thanks for the input.

Expect a few jokes your way but nothing offensive. Have fun and enjoy the game.

MOST Steeler fans have respect and faithful. Of course being a father or mom hehe you know to stay away from the loud guy with two beers in his hands, but other then them we are kind and respectful.
Also a great place to stay is the double tree in downtown near grant street away from the North Shore. It has a great view of mellon arena and the new one their building and a lot of sites and to do's in downtown.
Please if your looking for good eats go to Primanti's Brothers in the strip district. If you ask for directions there say in the Strip because its the original one and the best!

Nothing is worse than obnoxious fans to away teams. I personally don't care who anyone else likes, and have all the respect for whoever your team is. It's when I'm walking around (I'm from Boston btw) in my #43 jersey and people literally stop to shout "Steelers Suck." It drives me nuts.

But good to see a respectful fan. Hope you have a great time man. While I hate the Pats, I really hope it's them and the black and gold in the playoffs. That would be a game I would def. attend.

Most fans will be fine, but every stadium will have some jerks. Cheer for your team and focus on the game and you'll be fine. The people who find trouble are usually the ones who are looking for it by turning around and mocking the crowd or engaging someone. I would think being with the kid will help keep jerks away as well.
I'm coming to the game this weekend as well and I can tell you if you don't have a hotel right now, you are SOL on this one for Saturday night. If you are looking for Sunday night you'll be fine. Something big must be happening besides the Pens and Steelers games, because there isn't a hotel within 30 miles of Pittsburgh. I'm staying in Greensburg for Gods sake, Monroeville and the airport are even completely booked.

Heinz field is nothing like Philly, not even close. Hell philly fans dont like Philly LoL .
Even most of the Ravens fans in for the Mondaynight game last year were cool, we all hung out at Bettis's grill and some of them bought us drinks. We had a drunk beside us an some people had there kids with them and were disturbed by him so we had the usher kick him out. They have a no tolerance policy at Heinz, they even post a number to call up on jumbo tron. So have fun!

Welcome and I hope you enjoy your experience this coming week, albeit not with a win of course!

I've noticed that as long as you are respectful and don't ask for trouble, then you will be fine. You will always encounter some jerks that have had too much to drink and might be out of line a bit, but as long as you aren't starting anything, you will be fine.

Depending on your seat location, there's a chance you may hear a few choice words, but overall Steelers fans are respectful and will talk a good smack within line.

Enjoy the game!
