Did anyone else hear ESPN's Chris Berman refer to Ben's tackle on Nick Harper as the Immaculate Redemption? Berman said this tackle could go down in Steelers and NFL history as one of the biggest plays since the Immaculate Reception. When Berman asked Big Ben about it, Ben said that only Berman could come up with something like that. Bettis and Cowher got a real hoot out of it, too...(lol).

I think this is the year when something immaculate leads to a SUPER BOWL BIRTH! HERE WE COME DETROIT!

Yeah, I saw that. He was really trying to sell it to name history. I thought it was stupid. Immaculate tackle was much better.

I heard someone on another board call it "Divine Inter-Ben-tion" I thought that was pretty cool.

Thank you. I posted it on the official Steelers MB (which overall, is a horrible MB).

Yeah I know, I am really glad I found this board. I swear that board must have been the first one ever created. Very user-un-friendly.

Sorry to bump an old topic, but Chris Berman is still shamelessly selling his naming of Ben's tackle as the "Immaculate Redemption." I think the name sucks and if he were here I'd take Rep points away for it.

i was at the mall a couple days ago and there was a stand selling some steeler stuff. they had a bunch of buttons with different sayings. they had one with a picture of big-bens tackle and it had "the immaculate tackle" saying on it along with the date. i thought that was pretty cool so i bought one and my wife bought one that said "here we go".

When I look back on the 2005 season, and think of the Colts playoff game, it will ALWAYS be Troy's stolen pick and "The Call" that I remember...I've practically forgotten about Ben's tackle.

I think that play should be called "Immaculate Tackle", not what Chris Berman called it.

I'm fine with "Divine Inter-Ben-tion" too.

I saw da story and I do realize it was amazin and wish all da colts fans would stop whinin how we got lucky.....no we just made a tackle at da right spot and your kicker was off....ain't our fault. It was an Immaculate Inter-Ben-tion (props on da name) and I'm proud of Ben for havin da balls not to be scared of gettin hurt and goin for da tackle. This whole year has been immaculate.....never has a 6th seed gone to da super bowl!!! We did it and we should be proud. One last thing, I'm glad to see girls here that are true Black n Gold Steelers fans. In da days of abercrombie, laguna beach, and paris hilton it's good to see some girls aren't afraid to get passionate over a football team. Props to you all. Peace.

Here's a t-shirt some of you may have seen regarding The Tackle. I picked one up at Giant Eagle while grocery shopping yesterday after work...(lol). It's pretty sharp lookin'.

Divine Inter-Ben-tion is good, but it'll be remembered as the Immaculate Redemption 'cuz that's what Berman said.

How true your words are, blitzburghXL. I hate to bring this old thread back up, but I'm listening to ESPN right now and Berman is STILL referring to The Tackle as the Immaculate Redemption.

I dunno. Berman is the only one using it.

Madden said it would be rememberd as "The Tackle". I think he's right.
