Lawrence Timmons

This last game against Cleveland was probably one of my best of the year, but I donít worry about that. I just go out and play the game. My job is my main concern, Iím just thinking about what I can do to help the defense, not how many sacks or tackles I have.

I think we played well on defense but you can always do better. I know I left a couple of plays out there, missed a couple of tackles. I definitely learned something from this game. The defense still has a lot more growing to do, but as the season progresses we will get better. I still think weíre good but we have strides to make.

Minnesota comes to town this week and they have so many weapons, theyíre like an army. Theyíve got Brett Favre, Bernard Berrian, Sidney Rice, Visanthe Shiancoe is playing amazing right now and their defense is in the top five in the league every year. Theyíre a complete team and we definitely have to bring our A game.

You know the Vikings are strong if they can beat Baltimore coming off a loss. The Ravens almost never lose two in a row, so to beat them after a loss, thatís impressive.

To me, Adrian Peterson is the best back in the league. Heís just unreal, a hell of an athlete. The whole defense has to work to stop him. You have to swarm to him and wrap him up when you tackle because you know heís going to break some tackles.

Itís a great year for football. Especially in our conference, on any given Sunday any team can be beat, no matter how the team has been playing. You have to have respect for every game. Every team has playmakers, just like we do. Thatís the NFL.

Timmons got to work on his backside cut back coverage.........He is over pursuing a little still.........It is hard to hold back and wait to play the lane.....But that is his job......Potsy gets to be the run dog.......But LT must wait to see if there is a cutback........

Just like a running back to anxious to hit the hole. Once he settles down and plays at game speed instead of his own speed he will be at his full potential. I liked him coming in. i thought he'd develop sooner but I'll take him any day. Great attitude and aptitude.
What more can you ask for.

Timmons had a great game inside, way to stick it up in there.

He pounded the hole. He's becoming a man.

I agree. I also think he's finally 100% over the dreaded high ankle sprain too.
He was very quick last week against Cleveland.

He seems very intelligent and fits the Steeler mold of doing anything to help the team.
No problem with him making some mistakes as he seems to be learning valuable lessons along the way.

No doubt Timmons had a big game against the Brownies. To me his ankle seemed really close to 100% and that helped him. The more he starts then of course the more he can learn on how to becoming a great MLB for this defense. Timmons and company will have a big task on Sunday shutting down Peterson and their TE Shiancoe.
