I think it's going to be low scoring, and a close one. Two similar teams going at it, a great match up, which should be a defensive struggle. Ben will open up the pass offense but it's going to have to be the O-Line and the running game that's going to have to win this one for us. Keeping Peterson and Favre off the field is key and if we can win the T.O.P then we can hand the Vikes their first loss in Heinz, but I wouldn't be surprised if we lose a step here. If Mendy gets going, and if Ben has another oustanding game, we will edge them out. Home field is key in this one.

Vikings 24

Ben comes up big and throws 4 TDs
Mendenhall rushes for 100 yards and 1 TD
Troy intercepts Favre twice
The D holds Peterson to about 70 yards

Realistically, it will probably be a little closer but this is fantasy land right now. I really think Ben will come up big in this game because he feels like he has something to prove, and what better way to do it than taking out a 6-0 team with the best RB and a legendary QB?

And if Joe Hacko can score big on the Vikes defense, then Ben can destroy them if he has time to throw.

Just to piss off the Patriots, who thought they had the most dominating win of the season, lol.

Ben throws for 7 TDs and 500 yards in the first half
Mendy rushes for 3 TDs in the second half and 300 yards
Farve completes 1 of 15 passes, 12 yards, 5 INTs
AP gets held to 4 yards and fumbles 12 times

Living in MN I am privy to inside stuff on the Vikes... My feeling is the Vikes are scared to death of the no-huddle wearing out their "Fat Boys" in the middle. I predict a late game explosion by the Steelers as they wear down the "Williams Wall"...34-20!

Ben passing for 300 +
Rushard running for 100 +
Hines catching for 100 +
Silverback/Woodley/Timmons/Gay combining for 3-4 sacks and some punches on the drama king
Troy hunting for 2 picks
Stefan giving good field position to start the offense
DSep punting deep
Reed making one out of one FG

If the Steelers concentrate and don't make mistakes, they must win this game :tt02:

Yes! Oh, forgot a few more stats...

Troy runs 3 of his 5 INTs back for TDs
Woodley tackles Favre in the end zone for a safety
Logan runs a punt return back for a TD

...and as time expires at the end of the 4th, the officials make a rare ruling to extend the game into overtime just to see if Minnesota can actually score. Instead, Harrison intercepts Favre and runs it back 75 yards for a TD.

Final Score:

Steelers: 149

A happy accident...while I was doing a quick search for all of Tony's failed predictions, lo and behold, this little treat of YOURS showed up....

Not very good prognostication from a self-professed football wunderkind....(This is from 2007)

(Setting this up, negative Nancy was upset we picked Mendenhall with our first pick, since he didn't want a RB )

why? the steelers are not in need of a WR in the first round. hartwig does not solve the O-line problems. the steelers can't keep neglecting the O-line every draft. the don't have a single star player on the O-line.

starks - average to poor. seems to play better at LT than RT
simmons - average to poor
mahan - average to poor. clearly not a center.
kemo - average to poor. still having trouble learning the playbook.
essex - average to poor
smith - above average, but not healthy
hartwig - remains to be seen, but was nothing special before coming here
colon - average to poor. clearly not a tackle.
stapleton - unknown
capizzi - unknown

also, the steelers probably won't have a DB worth the value of the 23rd pick to choose.

IMO, they should BPA the OL or DL.

the DL is in shambles.

smith - coming off an injury and is getting old.
hampton - isn't getting any younger and he needs to lose weight.
kirschke - old and basically a backup.
[I]keisel - too small to play the DL in a 3-4.
mcbean - unknown.
hoke - getting old.

Mendenhall was compared to Barry Foster and "would be riding the pine for 3-4 years"....
