Polamalu sits out again
Troy Polamalu sat out his second consecutive day of practice Thursday as the Steelers prepare to play the Minnesota Vikings Sunday.

But the Steelers expect Polamalu to practice Friday and be good to play against the Vikings.

The team sat him out the past two days to give his left knee, which caused him to miss four games with an MCL sprain, some extra time to rest following his comeback last week against Cleveland.

Running back Rashard Mendenhall returned to practice today after being limited Wednesday with a bruised knee.

Mendenhall said he's taking the starting job week-to-week, while Willie Parker said he's OK with Mike Tomlin's decision to continue starting Mendenhall.

"I'm not 100 percent yet," said Parker, who missed two games with a sprained toe. "Coach (Mike) Tomlin knows that."

Defensive end Travis Kirschke also returned Thursday, while linebacker Andre Frazier missed his second consecutive day.

I hope for Willie's sake thats the truth. He definitely hasn't been the same fast Willie the last couple years

Mendy has been running well, and Parker hasn't.

Same situation as when Maddox went down and Ben came to the rescue his rookie year. How do you sit a guy that's playing well just because he wasn't the "starter" coming into the season?

Gotta earn it, Willie. You gotta earn it. Personally, I don't think you want it.

Keep resting Troy when you can. He will be ready come Sunday and hopefully he will be able to scramble Farves brain cells and cause him to make mistakes on Sunday.

I really believe we'll see Troy out on that field on Sunday. He's licking his chops at the opportunity to put Favre's dookie in the dirt.

I expect Troy to play, but he won't be 100%....then again, I'll take Troy at 85% over most other safeties at 100% anyday.

troy is not close to 85% probably 50 he aggravated his injury last week and may need surgery if he does play I dont expect him to get out of the first quarter!

How do you know Troy is only at 50%?....and he didn't aggravate his original injury last week.

ē Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said he is pleased with how Troy Polamalu's left knee responded following the strong safety's first game since Sept. 10. Polamalu gave Steelers fans a scare last Sunday when he came up limping after making a first-quarter interception against the Browns. Tomlin said it had nothing to do Polamalu's original injury. "He banged his knee on the ground so really it was something separate from the injury he sustained weeks ago and that created the situation where he hobbled a little bit the rest of the day," Tomlin said Tuesday. "His presence is significant and we're glad to have him back out there." Tomlin said the Steelers may limit Polamalu in practice this week but the five-time Pro Bowler is expected to play Sunday against the visiting Minnesota Vikings.

ah well look at how he played after the int. signifcantly slower and limping around and he has sat out of practice .just an educated guess but I do think he reinjured his knee. regardless of what tomlin says. lets wait and see how he is palying in the 2nd quarter sunday to see if he should be playing!

Lol, im sorry but "educated guess"? Whatís so educated about it?

I really hope for Troy to be playing this weekend, as he strikes fear into defenses just being on the field. Makes them think twice to where he is at. Plus TE have been killing us it seems when he wasn't in there. LETíS GO STEELERS!! Letís give them vikes' their first loss!

thats why he will be playing...just to make fear for the vikes offense..but if he cant run at close to full speed he will be a liablity.

Hopefully, Troy will be getting this type of treatment the remainder of the season. Tomlin is very aware of the amount of wear and tear that goes on with his players. With someone as important as Troy, I am sure he would do this to keep someone like him on t he field

Troy will be ready for this one no doubt.
