So I am watching the replays of the game...

On the pick six at the end of the game, Ziggy Hood had sprinted down the field and caught up to the LB's that were running.

Now, our LB's run like deer. But Ziggy caught up to them? :jawdrop:

I know, they weren't running straight down the field. But still. . . .

Well we held the Vikings to 89 total yards rushing (and held AP to 69 yards on 18 carries), so Ziggy (and the DL in general) obviously didn't do poorly

With that speed... at that size...

Could you imagine Hood as a RB?

We put our backup center in as a FB sometimes, so why the hell not?

If you all get a chance, watch the play again. Ziggy sees the INT, and takes off running. I mean, his speed IS IMPRESSIVE! Dang.

Living here in St. Louis, I got to see Ziggy play quite a bit at Mizzou. He's definitely got some wheels for a big man.

I cant remember if it was the INT play or the Fumble but on one of them one of the vikings linemen I think it was a tackle, ran with them the whole way too just never got close enough to tackle, I thought that was impressive for a big guy as well.

OK.

Watching this again, I admit, it was all fat guys and then Clark who put quite a bit of distance between him and everyone else... then slowed down.

However, I am still impressed with the speed!

ziggy's fast for his size.

travis was having a hell of a game until he was injured. if aaron smith was underrated to begin with... travis is double underrated as a back up.

props to him for earning his paycheck and keeping his spot on this team in spite of all the steelerfans who think he is a bum and dead weight.

Again you and I don't agree on much, but this is a total agreement with me... I think he is very highly underated. He seams to have improved with age.

The thing that I noticed is that Ziggy looked small on that play..........but that is only because the Vikings OT Phil Loadholt (6'8"-335lbs) was running into the picture.

I didn't know he had that kind of burst. I would like to see him get more work as the year goes on. He seems to be playing decent so why not let him play.

Glad to see a rookie stepping up and playing well. Glad to see that the Steelers made some great decisions in this year's draft.

Also look at #71 for the Vikings. Nice hustle by him. But Hood can move it, wow.

That does not sound crazy fast BUT there can be a BIG difference between track speed and game speed.

This is true. In a game normally you're not sprinting untouched straight forward, you are taking some sort of angle.

Not saying that isnt very impressive for a kid that size. Honestly, I know we are set at LB but I could see this as a plausible (rotation) position for him.

Edit: Imagine him getting a good 8 yard running start before he comes into contact with a guy.....
