I'm thinking Ravens, but this is very tough to forecast. I'm teetering back and forth.

Part of me wants the Ravens to win and part of me wants the Bengals to win, but it doesn't really matter because the Steelers will be taking care of business no matter what

Any chance for a scoreless tie with lots of injuries?

Should be a good one. Both teams are coming off of blowout wins, but the Bengals have had 2 weeks to prepare so they should be in good shape. It will be hard to beat the Ravens twice, but a 4-0 AFC North record would look pretty good. :chuckle:

I think it is going to be a blow-out. The only problem is....who gets blown out?

I think if the Ravens defense plays like it did against Denver, Baltimore wins big, say 34-17. But if the Ravens secondary disappears again, along with pressure on Palmer, Ochostinko may have a big day and the Bengals win 38-14.

It's a big game for both teams. Baltimore needs a win to stay in the hunt for a division crown or a WC spot, with a loss dooming them to maybe just being a wildcard. Cincinnati wants a win to have a 4-0 AFCN record.

It should be a great game no matter what.

The Ravens are much more "for real" than the Bengals. They'll win. But I still maintain that both teams are overrated.

I hate both teams, so I hope for a really pathetic score. I'll give the edge to the Bengals though since I don't have to be around their fans periodically. Here's hoping for some helmet-to-helmet contact between Ochosphincter and Ray Lewis that puts them both in the hospital and ends their careers.

Final Score:

Bengals - 3
Ravens - 2

Hey, look at it this way. If that is the final score, it means that your team's D is playing well!

I took the Ravens in my pool. I think they're pissed that Ced Benson got 100 on them the last time and Chad gave them even more fire with the deodorant stunt (despite the fact that it was funny). That Raven defense has a lot of pride and they play lights out when provoked, so I based my pick on that.

17-3 Ravens.

That's the best case scenario for us anyway.

So if the Ravens win and the STEELERS win the Steelers are on top of the AFCN right?

Well in all actuallity we need the Ravens to win this one to set up the rematch with the Steelers and Bengals next sunday afternoon, of course the Steelers must take care of business against a tough foe in the Broncos on monday night as well.

Steelers 23
Broncos 14

Ravens 30
Bengals 21

The Steelers still have to win on monday night of course, and then the Steelers must Beat the Bengals next sunday to take over 1st in the AFC North. If the Steelers lose again to the Bengals it is gonna be very tough for the Steelers to catch them.

The AFC North Standings look like this

Cincinnati 5-2 Overall 3-0 Division 3-2 Conference
Pittsburgh 5-2 OA 1-1 Div. 3-1 Conf.
Baltimore 4-3 OA 1-1 Div. 4-2 Conf.

If the Steelers and Bengals win on this sunday they will both be 6-2. The tie breaker for division winners of course first is head to head, the Steelers need badly to win this next matchup with the Bengals.

Which is one reason (because it probably won't end in a 0-0 tie) I'm rooting for the Ratbirds.

Okay, these two threads need to be merged, but again:

I wouldn't say that. The Ravens have NO secondary what-so-ever and the rest of the defense is either missing tackles or can't get off their blocks.

I haven't seen a bad penalty yet. I saw one missed delay of game, but that was on 3rd and 10 and the Ravens still didn't stop the Bengals.

I'll give you that the Ravens seem to have stayed in Baltimoronville, but there have been TONS of holds by Cinci's O-line that haven't been called...

It is effed up. He's done for the season.

Haven't heard the "official" report, but they showed it before they put the splint on it---looked like a broken forearm (radius)...

I can see a lineman playing with that injury---with a heavy (thick) fiberglass cast----but I'm not sure a skill-position player could keep catching, etc

we'll see...

You could obviously see it was broken on the replay.

He'll be out for a while if not the season. Back in time for the playoffs maybe? :flap:

Congrats to Cincy.

But what a piss-poor game by the Ravens, at least in the first half.

Either the Bengals or the Steelers will represent the AFCN this season. It ain't gonna be Baltimore.

Yeah, apart from Peyton Manning, he is oddly the biggest bully against us.

Anyway, we're pretty much out of the division race, with a wildcard being a remote possibility, but still plausible.

Too early for that just yet - still 1/2 a season to go.

The season still isn't over yet.

The Ravens are 4-4 with 8 games to go. They can still salvage the season. They're just going to have to work a lot harder is all. They're not going to win any tiebreakers against Cincy though.

I'll say this, Baltimore's D has finally run into their Fred Taylor. Cedric Benson.

Yeah he has been our kryptonite, but the cornerbacks are just abysmal in general, which drags down the entire defense.

Considering that we're good every other year, though, at least I can be confident in a Super Bowl appearance next year!
