View Full Version : MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

I posted something similar to this in another thread---but it will probably get buried when that thread disappears, so I thought I would post it here as well...

I find it an abomination of all that is Good on this Earth that the MNF football song has been superceded by those effing rocket helmets. It just kills me. Next thing you know, Hank Williams,Jr. (who does annoy me) will be fired, and we'll be listening to Beyonce or some other such floozy (spelling?) singing about the SB ring to the tune of that insipid song of hers about "put a ring on it"

What was wrong with the MNF Theme Song?---which is actually called "Heavy Action"--

Here's the story (embedding disabled by YouTube)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUU4NvNoPm4&NR=1

And here's the song:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/G8Avmrhcl8A&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/G8Avmrhcl8A&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Makes me want to SCREAM and HIT someone when I hear it!

I miss the old MNF opening from back in the day, when Heavy Action would be playing in the background and Cosell would be talking up that night's game. Those were the days....

I miss the pre-tirico/jaws MNF, with Al Michaels and co. I am also sick of ESPN pushing some lame-brain country artist/Dave Matthews Band/rock group on me instead of just keeping with the theme song they used to have when they covered

Im just mad we only have 1 monday night game...they could have atleast scheduled 2 of them, so we could get a home game.

I know. The defending Super Bowl Champs get only one Monday Night game and it's an away game in Denver. What the hell is up with that?

I agree, Indo...the graphics are retarded, and the new "song" is putrid....just because they CAN do something does not mean they should.

Not only that, but they sold the rights to the MNF song to boston market, so now the only time I hear it is during their crappy commercials (which have absolutely nothing to do with football).

I am sick of the hype & the commercialism-it's like an embarrassing representation of our national sport & often makes me hollar "Just get on with the effing game!!!"
Same old hype on Sunday nights as well & sometimes I swear if I have to hear that Pink song one more time I'm going to friggin puke.
