I believe teams coming off a short week have a less than stellar record in the following weeks games. I don't know the exact stats, but I think winning % drops significantly the next week. We looked like we just played a Monday night game across the country, as we looked both flat and under prepared.

Also, just came off of 2 big wins against suppossed great teams. Although the Broncos are showing their true identity now.
We'll get back to winning. I called 11-5 at the start of the year and we're on schedule for that. If we get hot, 12-4 even looks probable. Unfortunately, this year this may fall short for winning the division. No shame in 11-5 or better, and I think we'll be a very tough out for anyone we face in the playoffs.
I was at the game today and we didn't play well and the Bengals are a good team this year, but didn't play much better today. They got a couple of key plays in a tight game and that was the difference. That game was there for the taking and we didn't grab it. As bad as the Offense and special teams were and without Troy we were still right there. Our D will keep us in every game. When it really counts I think we'll be fine.

Doesn't sound like an excuse to me. The fact is we stunk it up against an inferior team that is now starting to play up to their potential. If we get our shit together we'll see them again in the playoffs. Then we can either exact some revenge or be the Ravens of 2009.
then we'll have to listen to how they own us.:puke:

Actually, even Marv Lewis commented on this...he stated something along the lines that if they have to play Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, having them come off a big road win on the road out West with a short week is the way to do it...

In fact the Steelers complained about the scheduling as well.

I haven't seen Ben that out of sync in a couple years. The line play was poor. The offense was just completely hung over...the scheduling is as good of a reason for the poor play as any. That certainly wasn't the same Steelers offense that played a much better Denver defense the week prior.

We won't look that bad again this year. We'll go 5-1 the rest of the way and head into the playoffs at 12-4.

Short week has nothing to do with it. Flat out lost the game.

The Bengals are smoke and mirrors. Benson is so banged up they are going to sign Larry Johnson. Palmer is a douche' bag.

However, we got outcoached and outplayed in just about every facet. Hopefully the team will get it together to make a good stand at defending their title.

Which is why NFL coach Marv Lewis commented on it?

And the Steelers complained about it to the NFL?

It matters...yes, it is just another adverse condition to be overcome, but it was a scheduling error that was recognized by both teams. They don't just say shit to hear themselves talk.

Wait... but why did they complain? Were they trying to reschedule their bye week until after the MNF game?
