A low bow is a sign of respect and deference in Japan. I don't mind the respect, but deference (i.e. respect and esteem due a superior or an elder; also : affected or ingratiating regard for another's wishes) is too much.

This guy has got to stop with the grovelling before other World leaders....

Bowing to your Sa Bom Nim is a gesture of gratitude and respect. As the President of the United States, I have to agree with revs that bowing to other world leaders is inappropriate. A handshake would have been more than sufficient imho.

In this particular case I think it is more a sign of slobbing and bobbing the emperors knobbing.

If Bush set up some kind of illegal gouging cartel, why hasn't Obama rooted it out and tamped it down?

Nonsense...it's one thing to engage World leaders in a way that is considerate to their tradition and culture while maintaining your dignity and standing, it's another thing entirely to debase yourself in submission before them, and the error is compounded by the fact that you are the representing the most powerful nation in the World and, by proxy, dragging the whole country along in that submissive act...

Bu-bu-bu-Bush is getting extremely old and played out.....

Well, it certainly isn't the first time a President has done this towards a foreign leader.

Republicans Nixon and Eisenhower have both done it.

Olberman? The worst he could show was a few presidents bowing...there is a HUGE cultural difference between a stately half or quarter bow and a deep, bend-n-half bow, the kind Obama did.

As usual, the response from Obama's blind apologists is either irrelevant or simply an apples-to-oranges deflection.

The bottom line FACT here is that Obama bowed TOO LOW. It is a sign of weakness and subservience in Japanese culture. Please, please PLEASE stop apologizing for him and fobbing off the old "But Bush did this" bullshit and OWN UP TO OBAMA'S CLEAR MISTAKE! Why can't any of the Obama sheeples for once just admit that the guy made the wrong call????

So because Bush served 2 full terms (Constitutional limit), it then follows that "someone is looking out for us after all" since he is no longer in office?

Huh?

:noidea:

Why didn't said "someone" look out for us in 2000 and 2004 when GWB was elected?

That was actually a joke. lol

As far as your second point, I'm not sure. I guess no one thought he would cause that kind of damage. In 2000 he said he would never go into a country and occupy it. (Iraq)

He claimed fiscal responsibility. (doubled the national debt and left the U.S. with nearly a $500 billion budget deficit).

He believed in free-markets, yet didn't hesitate to give out billions to the banks in 2008 (with the approval of another free-marketer in McCain.) Ron Paul would have never done that. Of course, people say he's a "radical". lol

I was not a fan of the republicans spending habits, nor a supporter of the TARP....but all of that is irrelavent now, sooner or later the "but Bush" excuse will have to run out, and people such as yourself will have to realize that this is now the Obama administration, and he has to start to take responsibility for the direction he is pointing the country in

We can't call TRUE conservatives such a Ron Paul hypocrites though because he spoke out against the 2001-2006 Republican spending and the war in Iraq from the get-go. Not that I agree with much of what he says, but a hypocrite he is not.

The crowd that is laughable is the one that said "yes sir massa Bush" for 8 years, NOW all of a sudden its complaining time.

We didn't hear of any tea parties in September 2008. We didn't hear of any during the Bush administration. We didn't hear a call of "fiscal responsibility" from many conservatives. Not all of them, but many of them were silent.

Bush doubled national debt- *silence*

Obama increases national debt- STOP all this government spending! Obama is putting my kids' and grandkids' future's at risk!!!!!!!!!!!!! (but Bush's spending did nothing to "put your children and grandchildren's future at risk, lol).

Not that I agree with conservatives, but I can respect those such as Ron Paul. They don't care what party occupies the White House. WHOEVER goes against their principles, they protest it. They basically silenced him during the 08 GOP primaries.

I agree with the the whole "all politicians are dirtbags" statement.

But, your other statement has a fundamental flaw......

I am a taxpayer and I am a fan. Both of those statements put my money in thier pocket. That being said, when my money does not pay the dividends I expect, I have every right to bitch about it. Granted I could jump ship and be some other teams fan (NEVER GONNA HAPPEN) or just quit watching football. But, I'm stuck with this corrupt system of government that I am FORCED to fund! So therefore I will bitch AND VOTE until my voice is heard.

I agree that both parties suck ass, but from my seat the democrats are on a higher echelon of sucking ass!

Again, gotta call bullshit here. I had plenty of problems with Bush, and if he would have bowed all the way to the floor for a foreign leader, I'd have questioned it as well. That ain't the issue here anyway...

My beef is with people who take toe the party line 100% and NEVER waiver from it. Obama flubbed up, and all I'm hearing is "Oh, it wasn't that bad...yada yada yada..." and nary a word of criticism.

I hated Bush's fiscal policies, and I disagreed with him out loud on many occasions...speaking of fiscal responsibility...in fact, even though I dislike her on a ton of other issues, if Sarah Palin runs on a fiscally conservative platform, i might vote for her in 2012. ANYTHING to stop hemorrhaging cash....

No, I don't think so, and I'll tell you exactly why.

A) You are asserting that I'm a Bush kool aid drinker, so the burden of proof rests with you.
B) The last time I trudged up old threads, I was warned and then infracted for "digging up old posts", which is something I'm not, apparently, allowed to do...

I will say this. I had several problems with Bush's "Religiosity", his fiscal policies, I'm not a big fan of some of his lieutenants, I had a big problem when i found out he was funneling money to Palestine, and those are just a few off the top of my head.
