The federal government yesterday asked for former Steelers Hall of Fame cornerback Mel Blount to be held in default on more than $600,000 in back taxes that he owes.

A complaint against Mr. Blount, who operates the Mel Blount Youth Home in Claysville, Washington County, says that he owes back taxes dating from 1994 to 1996, and from 1998 through 2006, totaling more than $630,000.

The U.S. attorney's office filed the complaint against Mr. Blount in September. He had 60 days to respond to it and has not filed anything in federal court.

If the court enters a default judgment, the government could then move to seize cash or property owned by Mr. Blount to satisfy the outstanding debt.

Mr. Blount could not be reached for comment.

Ugh. Ignoring them won't work, Mel. Better file a response and try to work out a payment plan before they clean you out. :shake01:
